There are so many ways I could go with this story about the Cowboys’ Dez Bryant attacking his mother, but I’ll choose this one; NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has been anything but consistent when handing out fines and suspensions, but he needs to get this one right or risk losing the ounce of respect fans around the league still have for him. If Goodell is going to suspend a player for four games for using Adderall and suspend a Pro Bowl QB for incidents for which he was never charged then I expect serious consequences for Bryant. And this is NOT his first off-field incident.
The Steelers’ Troy Polamalu appeared on the Dan Patrick Show this week and admitted he had hidden some concussion symptoms from team doctors before. If this surprises you, then you don’t know football. Nothing terrorizes players more than fear. Fear of letting teammates down or fear of not doing their job. Sounds barbaric but it’s fact.
Michael Vick may have learned a lot through his horrible actio...

Normally talkative New York Jets coach Rex Ryan is now ready to chat about his weight-loss surgery.
Once weighing 348 pounds, Ryan wanted to wait until he lost at least 100 of that. More than two years after having the Lap-Band procedure, Ryan is down to about 243 pounds.
Ryan said Thursday the device forces him to practice portion control. He still eats Mexican food, but where...
Rex Ryan— the larger than life and bigger than an offensive tackle NFL personality— taped a television talk show Thursday and showed off the new slimmer version of himself.
After dropping over 100 pounds and sporting a new hairstyle, the New York Jets head coach taped an interview with CBS-NY's "The Couch" (to be broadcast Friday) and looked like he stepped off...
Since learning of Dez Bryant's Monday arrest and alleged domestic violence incident that took place Saturday at his mother's home in DeSoto, many have speculated about who deserves blame for Bryant's problems off the field.
In a Thursday column by Berry Tramel of The Oklahoman, former NFL wide receiver Bryan Gilmore places some of that blame on former Cowboys cornerback...
THAT'S MY TEAMMATE
Despite the ugly offseason Dez Bryant has gotten himself wrapped up in that has left the Cowboys pondering his future, his quarterback is still supporting him.
Details continue to emerge surrounding the recent arrest of Cowboys receiver Dez Bryant. A warrant issued Saturday evening led to Bryant voluntarily turning himself in to DeSoto Police on misdemeanor charges of domestic assault.
Newest reports indicate Angela Bryant, the third-year receiver's mother, was the victim of a violent attack leading to the arrest. The incident...
Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo expressed his support for troubled teammate Dez Bryant at a celebrity golf tournament on Friday in Lake Tahoe. Bryant had turned himself in to police on Monday after a warrant for his arrest was issued that accused him of assaulting his mother. "The one thing I know is that Dez knows I have his back," Romo told ESPN at the American...
Wide receiver Dez Bryant (23) faces a Class A misdemeanor family violence charge after he was accused of assaulting his mother (37). I got nothin’ but Dr. Phil’s saying, “Every pancake has two sides.”
Bryant turned himself in to the DeSoto, Texas police in answer to a warrant. The Cowboys said Bryant had been having an ideal offseason in the lead-up to training camp. He...
You'll be seeing a lot less of Rex Ryan this season. The Jets' coach hasn't been one to shy away from blabbering for the microphone, but he's down in the blubber department. Ryan, like his brother and Cowboys defensive coordinator Rob Ryan, underwent lap-band surgery two years ago. He said Thursday he's ready to enter a new weight class, having dropped a total...
Embattled Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo told ESPN’s Ed Werder yesterday that he supports teammate Dez Bryant despite the unhinged wide receiver’s recent legal woes. Bryant was arrested and booked earlier this week on a Class A misdemeanor domestic violence … Continue reading →
Dez Bryant has gotten himself in hot water, but his quarterback Tony Romo isn't going to jump ship anytime soon.
“The one thing I know is that Dez knows I have his back” Romo in an interview with ESPN’s Ed Werder. “Dez knows I’ll be there for him. Dez knows that I’m going to stick up for him.”
Bryant, who impressed the Cowboys coaches and teammates by having a...
Unsportsmanlike conduct, unnecessary roughness, personal fouls galore…and the NFL season hasn’t even started! Every week seems to bring a few new player arrests, some of them usual suspects (Dallas Cowboys Wide Receiver Dez Bryant), some of them unlikely offenders (Minnesota … Continue reading →
I just don’t understand how anybody in the world – besides the competitors – gets fired up for the Olympics. I mean, who cares? Who really cares if we have the best gymnasts in the world, or the best skiers or whatever? If anything, I think everyone who competes in the Olympics is really weird, and it makes me uncomfortable.
They get up at like 4 a.m. every day and train. They...
