The Steelers Are Too Old… Again?

I think everyone can remember the madness last year when Warren Sapp implied that the Pittsburgh Steelers were too old to be considered an elite team. The Steelers did a great job of proving Sapp wrong both with the teams' overall on field performance and the way that the younger backups stepped up thru injuries. So just as the offseason passes us steadily by and we almost have...

No terms of the deal have been announced, but it figures to be a one-year deal for the veteran minimum. I am ecstatic to announce that I am back with the @Steelers !There is no place like #SteelerNation #EverydayIsABlessing— Trai Essex...

Steelers’ Offensive Line has Depth, Needs Starters

The Steelers brought back three offensive lineman this week in Ramon Foster, Doug Legursky and Trai Essex. All three players are back on one year deals; Foster and Legursky signed their restricted free agent tenders and Essex signed a one year deal to return to Pittsburgh. All three players played m Continue

Steelers re-sign WR Jerricho Cotchery

The Pittsburgh Steelers have agreed to terms with free agent wide receiver Jerricho Cotchery. Cotchery posted the message ''Let me see ya towels'' on his Twitter account Wednesday after agreeing to a two-year deal worth around $3 million. The 29-year-old Cotchery had 16 receptions for 237 yards and two touchdowns in 13 games with Pittsburgh last season. He had a...

Steelers Ready to Shine: Jonathan Dwyer

At one point ESPN draft guru Todd McShay had Jonathan Dwyer ranked as a top 30 prospect for the 2010 NFL Draft. McShay had Dwyer rated as high as number 3 on his list of top running backs available in the draft. However, questions about Dwyers conditioning and work ethic came into focus following a Continue

Mike Wallace Refuses To Sign Tender?

Wide receiver Mike Wallace reportedly refuses to sign his one-year tender of $2.7M with the Pittsburgh Steelers, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN. Fantasy Spin: Wallace wont be able to participate in OTAs if he doesnt sign the tender, and could ultimately end up being a holdout in Training Camp, as he covets a lucrative long-term deal. It is still too early to consider red flagging...

Steelers sign Trai Essex

Trai Essex posted on twitter that he is back with the Steelers.  Essex will compete as a back up and will probably play the swing role that he has played over the past few seasons.  The Steelers still need depth at all offensive line positions and Essex can play them all.

93.7 The Fan – Late Shift Interview With Chris Mueller

The incomparable Chris Mueller had me on the Late Shift Show early this morning on 93.7 The Fan to talk a little Pittsburgh Steelers. Chris and I talked about the recent re-signing of Jerricho Cotchery as well as the signing of free agent tight end Leonard Pope and I gave my thoughts on both. I was then asked about a few of the needs the Steelers have in the upcoming draft and what...

Do not underestimate re-signing of Cotchery

If you viewed the signing of Jerricho Cotchery yesterday as just another typical Pittsburgh Steelers’ free agent signing you wouldn’t be alone. As it turns out, developments later in the day could suddenly make this signing one of the larger ones in recent Steelers’ free agent signings. Not long after it was announced that Cotchery had signed a two-year deal, third year receiver...

NFL Notebook: Wallace leads RFA speculation

The market for restricted free agents is pretty soft, but Steelers WR Mike Wallace is the clear gem. With the deadline for RFAs to get offer sheets from other teams, the interest has been slim across the league. Plus, was a parting shot at Tim Tebow in Denver deserved?

Pittsburgh Steelers add a wide receiver

The Pittsburgh Steelers added a wide receiver to their roster on Thursday. The Steelers welcomed back veteran WR Jerricho Cotchery with a two-year deal. The free agent receiver had made visits to the St. Louis Rams as well as the Kansas City Chiefs.
