According to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, the Steelers are so far over the salary cap that they may end up losing every one of their free agents and they may even have to cut some veterans that aren’t willing to restructure their contracts. The Steelers could lose every one of their free agents, and they might have to lose a few more veterans if they don’t agree to take less money in 2013. They are so far over the salary cap that they would not be able to fill a 53-man roster without doing all of that. The bloodletting that occurred last year when they released three longtime stars could be a drop in the bucket as to what occurs over the next month, which could resemble their March Massacre. After all the dust settles, they could sign a free agent or two, but they won’t be on anyone’s A list. Even if the Steelers lose a bunch of players, they should be fine.  As long as they have Ben Roethlisberger under center, they have a chance to compete.  They’ll likely look to get younger and reload through the draft.   Need NFL Tickets? var _CI = _CI || {}; (function() { var script = document.createElement('script'); ref = document.getElementsByTagName('script')[0]; _CI.counter = (_CI.counter) ? _CI.counter + 1 : 1; document.write(''); script.type = 'text/javascript'; var _CI = _CI || {}; (function() { var script = document.createElement('script'); ref = document.getElementsByTagName('script')[0]; _CI.counter = (_CI.counter) ? _CI.counter + 1 : 1; document.write(''); script.type = 'text/javascript'; script.src = 'http://widget.crowdignite.com/widgets/27484?_ci_wid=_CI_widget_'+_CI.counter; script.async = true; ref.parentNode.insertBefore(script, ref); })();

Steelers 2013 Draft Analysis: Outside Linebacker – Early Look At The Rankings

Christopher DiMarino It's time to start looking at the positions that the Pittsburgh Steelers will look to draft in April. It is also a good idea to get a feel for a player before the combine, so you can tell if players are rated high just based on one weekend of workouts...
