Steelers DC Teryl Austin on how to stop Josh Allen: '13, 14 guys on the field, maybe?'

The Pittsburgh Steelers defense has a tall task ahead of it in Week 5, as it will take on dual-threat quarterback Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills. Similar to Lamar Jackson of the Baltimore Ravens and Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs, Allen is known for his knack of turning plays that look like they're going nowhere into chunk gains and even touchdowns.

Steelers defensive coordinator Teryl Austin was asked Thursday about how his unit may try to stop the 2020 Pro Bowl signal-caller on Sunday.

The Pittsburgh defense ranks 24th in both passing yards allowed per game (383.0) and rushing yards allowed per game (131.5), but have done a decent job of bending and not breaking, ranking in the middle of the pack at 22.5 points allowed per contest. After facing Joe Burrow, Mac Jones, Jacoby Brissett and Zach Wilson thus far, Allen should provide the most difficult challenge of the season.

The former MVP runner-up is tied with Kyler Murray for the NFL lead in completions (113), is second to Justin Herbert in passing yards (1,227) and is sixth in both passer rating (101.0) and completion percentage (67.3%).
