According to Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Steelers general manager Kevin Colbert didn’t rule out the possibility of drafting a quarterback in the first round of April’s NFL draft. For the first time since they drafted Ben Roethlisberger in 2004, Colbert would not rule out drafting a quarterback in the first round. “We won’t close the door on any position in any round. We can’t … Once we get into free agency and the draft, I don’t see any position that’s off limits.” The Steelers could be open to looking for Ben Roethlisberger’s replacement.  Not that they’re going to get rid of him now.  But they might be thinking of drafting someone to learn behind Ben for the next few years.   Need NFL Tickets? var _CI = _CI || {}; (function() { var script = document.createElement('script'); ref = document.getElementsByTagName('script')[0]; _CI.counter = (_CI.counter) ? _CI.counter + 1 : 1; document.write(''); script.type = 'text/javascript'; var _CI = _CI || {}; (function() { var script = document.createElement('script'); ref = document.getElementsByTagName('script')[0]; _CI.counter = (_CI.counter) ? _CI.counter + 1 : 1; document.write(''); script.type = 'text/javascript'; script.src = 'http://widget.crowdignite.com/widgets/27484?_ci_wid=_CI_widget_'+_CI.counter; script.async = true; ref.parentNode.insertBefore(script, ref); })(); sr_adspace_id = 1000005525107; sr_adspace_width = 300; sr_adspace_height = 250; sr_ad_new_window = true; sr_adspace_type = "graphic";

Latest Manti Te’o Story Now Includes The Name Of Steelers Safety Troy Polamalu

"Bizarre". That is the only word I know how to describe the whole Manti Te'o alleged fake internet girlfriend hoax story right now. If you have been hiding underneath a rock, I am not even going to try to rewrite the story up until this point. If you need to be brought up to speed on it, I highly suggest you read the full story that Deadspin broke earlier on Wednesday...

Please Don’t Ask Why the Steelers Aren’t More Active in Free Agency

We aren’t even there yet but I feel a pre-emptive strike is necessary for those fans who will inevitably say, “Why aren’t we signing player x or player z in free agency?” The free agency period for the 2013 season will not open up until March but already I’m seeing the comments about what the Steelers may do in free agency. This is exactly what they will do, very little...

Steelers GM Kevin Colbert looking to make changes: "If we don't change a roster that produced 8-8, we'd be silly to expect a better result”

Steelers’ general manager Kevin Colbert sounds like a very unhappy man with his team, and he has a plan to change that. Colbert is laying the foundation for the 2013 season by keeping an open mind, and staying with the Steelers way of doing business. The Steelers have always redesigned their roster before it gets to a point of rebuilding, and keeping with that theme; Colbert...

2012 Grades, Position by Position – QB

I’ve decided as my first series of articles for SteelersAddicts.com, I will review the season that just was, focusing on a particular position or set of positions. This week, I will look at the quarterback position. First, a little about me. I’m originally from Butler, PA, and one of my first memories in sports is the Steelers winning Super Bowl XIII, their third, making them...
