PITTSBURGH - 2009: Doug Legursky of the Pittsburgh Steelers poses for his 2009 NFL headshot at photo day in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. (Photo by NFL Photos)

The Steelers have promoted offensive lineman Doug Legursky to starter at Left Guard.  He will replace 4 year starter Chris Kemoeatu.  Thank God.  I have been clamoring for this all season.  Kemo is a brainless, penalty machine and was the last person left on the line to be replaced.  There is a completely new starting offensive line now from game one minus Maurkice Pouncey.  He is not being replaced.

  • Left Tackle- Jonathan Scott replaced by Max Starks
  • Left Guard- Chris Kemoeatu replaced by Doug Legursky
  • Center- Maurkice Pouncey
  • Right Guard- Doug Legursky replaced by Ramon Foster.  Legs will be a better left guard.
  • Right Tackle- False Start Colon replaced by Marcus Gilbert
Legursky struggled with the size he faced at Right Guard.  He is much better suited to play the left side next to Starks.  This gives us the best offensive line combination we have on the team.  This should strengthen our pass blocking and will not hurt us as much in the run as you might think.  Kemo was only good for pulling which he is great at but is otherwise useless.  He can not read the blitz, follow direction and apparently hear a whistle.  This will save the Steelers at least one dumb penalty a game. If Legursky can play well that would spell the end for Kemoeatu on this roster as well.  He could be released before next season starts.  That would save the Steelers in cap room.  It will also take the pressure off of having to draft a guard really early unless it is David DeCastro.  Him I want if he is on the board no matter what.
