Chris Rainey was speared by a Giants player in the ribs on a kick return today during the Steelers 24-20 win. The play should have received a flag as Rainey was down and the play was blown dead before the Giants player made the hit on Rainey. No flag was thrown, however, and before making it to the sideline Rainey collapsed on the field. He was taken to a local area hospital following the play for x-rays on his ribs.
There was some thought that Rainey had broken at least one rib and that he may have punctured a lung. When that was stated many people began taking it as a fact that Rainey had broken a rib and had a punctured lung. In fact, there are already groups on Twitter asking for prayers for a quick recovery for Rainey.
The problem is that Rainey doesn’t have any broken ribs and does not have a punctured lung. Rainey has bruised ribs and expects to have some pain early in the week, but may be able to play next week and will likely, at most, miss only one game. Dejan Kovacevic of...

Tomlin said the team overcame a lot of adversity today.
As far as injuries suffered in the game , Tomlin said linebacker Adrian Robinson (quad) suffered a quad injury and running back Chris Rainey (ribs or rib/cartilage...
Is Antonio Brown Paying For The Emmanuel Sanders Cramp?
While I was not a fan of Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown backpedaling 20-yards into the end zone on the punt return last week against the Washington Redskins, I think him being fined $10,000 is way too harsh.
To put that in perspective, the Baltimore Ravens were fined $20,000 by the NFL this past week for previously not listing free safety Ed Reed on the injury...
Heath Miller Poised For Another Big Day
The Steelers and many of their fans have known what they had in Heath Miller for a long time. One of the reasons so many fans were fed up with former offensive coordinator Bruce Arians was his limited use of Miller in the passing game especially in the red zone. The most touchdowns Miller ever scored when Arians was the offensive coordinator was 7 in 2007. Over the past two years...
Ben Roethlisberger Shows Eli Manning His Bother Peyton Isn’t The Only Pro When It Comes to Come From Behind Wins
I knew this would be the week the Pittsburgh Steelers would take down Eli Manning and the world Champion New York Giants, the Steelers are just playing too good of football to not win the game. Ben Roethlisberger’s confidence has never looked higher than what I have seen over the past few games the Steelers have played. Roethlisberger may not have liked the new offensive scheme...
The Pittsburgh Steelers hectic Sunday schedule due to Hurricane Sandy
Mike Tomlin and his Pittsburgh Steelers had a hectic Sunday morning, thanks to Hurricane SandyPhoto Credit: Creative Commons
The Pittsburgh Steelers traveled to the Meadowlands to take on the Giants in Week 9, but there was just one minor debacle; they had nowhere to stay. With hotels either being full of people without homes, or flooded and without power from Hurricane Sandy...
Steelers Winners And Losers – Week 9 – Giants
The Pittsburgh Steelers beat the New York Giants 24-20 Sunday at MetLife Stadium and are now 5-3 on the season. Below are the players, or group of players, that I thought had winning and losing performances in the game.
Winners:
Isaac Redman - If 147 yards rushing on 26 carries to go along with the game winning touchdown can't get a player in the winner section, I don&...

Steelers WR Antonio Brown Questionable To Return Vs Giants
Antonio Brown left Sunday's game vs. the New York Giants with an apparent ankle injury, following a deep throw from Ben Roethlisberger.
At first it appeared as if Brown's gait was thrown off by losing his shoe, however while walking a long the sideline it became apparent that the Steelers' leading receiver was in pain, and struggling with his foot.
Antonio Brown&...

Steelers rally past Giants 24-20
Isaac Redman ran for 147 yards, and scored the winning touchdown from a yard out with 4:02 remaining Sunday as the Pittsburgh Steelers rallied past the New York Giants, 24-20.
The Steelers (5-3) snapped New York's four-game winning streak by overcoming some uncharacteristic sloppiness and dominating the second half.
Temporary relief from the destruction of Superstorm Sandy...
Ryan Clark Flagged for Unnecessary Roughness on Questionable Victor Cruz Hit (Animation)
There's no replacement refs to blame for the poor officiating in the Steelers-Giants game.
Ryan Clark was flagged for unnecessary roughness on a big hit that seemed clean according to NFL rules. Eli Manning threw an ill-advised pass directly at a Steelers' defender, which was followed up by Clark lighting up Giants receiver Victor Cruz. Clark didn't...
Mendenhall & Dwyer Inactive For Pittsburgh
Both Rashard Mendenhall and Jonathan Dwyer are inactive for Week 9 vs. the Giants.
Fantasy Spin:
Isaac Redman will start at running back in their absence and is a solid FLEX play vs. a New York defense that struggles to stop the run.
Giants Can’t Get Off the Field on Third Down, Fall to Steelers 24-20
All it took was one quarter of football. Down 20-10 going into the fourth and final quarter the Pittsburgh Steelers scored fourteen unanswered points to beat the New York Giants 24-20 at Met Life Stadium. It was a game that the Giants seemed to be in control of heading into the fourth, then one play changed everything.
On third and five from just about midfield Steelers quarterback...
Steelers 24, Giants 20
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- In a game billed as the battle of two first-round quarterbacks from the Class of 2004, the Steelers' Ben Roethlisberger outlasted the Giants' Eli Manning by copying Manning's fourth-quarter comeback act to steer Pittsburgh to a 24-20 win over New York at MetLife Stadium. The Giants (6-3) saw their four-game winning streak end, and Manning'...
