Steelers fill 90-man roster with two signings

The Steelers finally have their first full 90-man roster of the offseason after two signings and a release, but it's not with players that many had predicted.

Pittsburgh announced on Monday that the team is signing offensive lineman Jarrid Williams and RB Darius Hagans as well as releasing WR Cody Chrest.

Williams, an undrafted free agent in 2022, has since spent time on the Eagles' and Lions' practice squads. He provides even more depth to the Steelers' revamped offensive line room.

Hagans, an undrafted rookie free agent, originally signed with the Colts following the 2023 NFL Draft. In 2022, he had 1,012 yards and six touchdowns in 10 games during his final year at Virginia State.

They aren't the names many had hoped to hear as Pittsburgh has been connected to linebackers Kwon Alexander and Isaiah Simmons. However, that doesn't mean those moves cannot still be made.

There is a lot of offseason remaining and general manager Omar Khan, who has been very active in his first full offseason, likely has another trick or two up his sleeve.

The Steelers still have to sign their first three draft picks from this year's draft, but with $15.72 million in cap space, it would be very surprising if the team was done building its roster for the 2023 season.
