Pro Sports Daily:
The Steelers are hopeful right outside linebacker James Harrison will be on the field Sunday against the Jets. Coach Mike Tomlin said Harrison (knee) was able to work out Monday. "He will run (Wednesday) and see where he is," Tomlin said. "We'll work him up to activity and let that be our guide." The Steelers had two sacks in the season opener at Denver with Harrison sidelined. Jason Worilds and Larry Foote each got to Peyton Manning, but the Steelers allowed Peyton Manning a 129.3 passer rating in defeat. Manning completed 73.1 percent of his passes for 253 yards. Harrison tied for the team lead with LaMarr Woodley with nine sacks last season but missed multiple games with a broken orbital bone. He had a team-high 10.5 sacks in 2010 and 10 in 2009.

The weight room in the indoor field house at Kent State University will soon be named after Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker James Harrison.
A donation of 100,000 will do that.
Harrison, an Akron, Ohio native who played at Kent State before embarking upon a unique, winding NFL journey that's taken him from street free agent to NFL Defensive Player of the Year, had his 100,000...

It’s been a long, long time.
Eight seasons to be exact.
The year was 2003, and it was the last time the Pittsburgh Steelers finished a regular season with a losing record. That season, with the fragile Tommy Maddox at the helm, the Steelers limped into the offseason with a 6-10 record. Since that time, the Steelers have enjoyed an era of excellence marked...
The Pittsburgh Steelers gambled on Mike Adams in the 2nd round of the draft, taking a chance on a guy who never lived up to lofty expectations at Ohio State and who failed a drug test at the combine.
So far, it’s a gamble that hasn’t paid off. Adams was forced into action when Marcus Gilbert went down with an injury early in the Steelers Sunday night loss in Denvar. One the third...
Steelers running back Jonathan Dwyer was the team's leading rusher in Week 1, earning 23 more yards than Isaac Redman on two less carries.Fantasy Spin:Dwyer averaged 4.8 ypc to Redman's 1.8, finishing with 43 yards on nine carries. Redman had 20 yards on 11 carries, and both players had two catches. Neither is much of a fantasy option.
One of the best called plays Sunday night in the Pittsburgh Steelers 31-19 loss to the Denver Broncos was the 3rd down and goal touchdown pass from Ben Roethlisberger to tight end Heath Miller at the end of the first half.
Normally I like to telestrate plays, but the animated gif along with the still shots from the all-22 tape show you all you need to know about the play without...
I have already posted my notes from the first half of the Pittsburgh Steelers 31-19 loss Sunday night to the Denver Broncos and below are my second half notes.
Ben Roethlisberger throws behind Jonathan Dwyer on first play of the second half. Had it been caught it would of gone for good yardage.
... and there is our Willie Colon false start. Luckily Roethlisberger converts the...
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Steelers running back Rashard Mendenhall fully participated in practice on Wednesday.
So it’s not just Adrian Peterson: Steelers said RB Rashard Mendenhall was a full participant in today’s practice.

Mendenhall practiced last week, but was inactive for last Sunday’s loss to the Broncos.

TheRedZone.org pointed out a big mistake the replacement officials made in Sunday night’s Steelers – Broncos match up.
No matter how much the NFL tries to mask it, the replacement officials continue to struggle.
Another case in point from last night’s Broncos 31-19 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers. Peyton Manning and the Broncos scored a touchdown late in the fourth...
Two key Steelers players -- linebacker James Harrison and running back Rashard Mendenhall -- were both on the inactive list for Sunday's game against the Broncos. Harrison had minor surgery on his left knee last month, and was hoping to be ready for the opener. However, he missed practice Saturday at which point he was listed as doubtful. Harrison had nine sacks last season...
Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin is gearing up for this Sunday's battle with the New York Jets. While Tomlin is preparing to defend New York's Wildcat offense, it appears NFL teams have gone to school on the once-vaunted attack.
