The Pittsburgh Steelers have seen their season turned on its head the past two weeks with a big loss to the Baltimore Ravens and even bigger losses at quarterback. With last week’s starter Byron Leftwich joining Ben Roethlisberger sidelined by injury, the Steelers will look to find a way to get it done against the Cleveland Browns Sunday with third-stringer Charlie...
Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin met the media for his post game press conference following the 13-10 loss Sunday night to the Baltimore Ravens.
Tomlin called it a nip and tuck game and that his team did not make the significant play in the game, especially in the waning moments in any of the three phases to be a difference.
Tomlin discussed the injuries suffered by the...
Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown will miss his second straight game with an ankle injury.
The Steelers made Brown inactive for Sunday night's game against Baltimore, and Emmanuel Sanders will start in Brown's place.
Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger had already been ruled out with a sprained right shoulder and dislocated rib. The Steelers also made safety Troy...
Most Steelers fans weren't giving the team a shot during the first of two bouts against the Baltimore Ravens in the next 3 weeks. The Steelers were without 3 Pro Bowlers: Ben Roethlsiberger, Troy Polamalu and Antonio Brown. The Ravens were coming off a dynamite performance last week and have a healthy Joe Flacco/Ray Rice combination that has given the Steelers fits. Pittsburgh...
In the aftermath following the Steelers 13-10 loss to the Ravens Sunday night, one thing stands out for this franchise going forward. The head coach needs to do more than provide dull quotes and tireless rhetoric.Since his arrival to Pittsburgh in 2007, Mike Tomlin has been extremely good at handling the locker room and entertaining a room full of reporters. The former being crucial...
Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin told the media that he was very impressed with Plaxico Burress’ work out and says he’s in good shape.
“He’s in really good physical condition based on the workout I just saw,” said Tomlin, per Steelers.com. “He’s got very good body control for a big man. He can drop his weight at break points. Obviously, he’s no stranger...
Anyone who has paid attention to the Pittsburgh Steelers and Baltimore Ravens rivalry over the past five years knows what to expect when these two teams get it on. The games are always close, physical and dramatic. Sunday night’s contest was no different, as Baltimore prevailed with a 13-10 road win.
It didn’t matter that the Steelers’ Ben Roethlisberger didn’t play because...
No team wants to deal with injuries, and certainly not when said injuries are to star players in key positions. When flooded with pulls, breaks, and sprains, like the Pittsburgh Steelers are, the team can either wallow in their sorrows, knowing that neither fans nor management will blame them for not performing up to pre-injury expectations, or the team can stand up and fight, win...

Mike Tomlin labeled Byron Leftwich's performance as "gritty," but Mike Prisuta points out that "gritty" wasn't enough with all of the other mistakes being made.
Many professional football careers aren’t as glamorous as often portrayed to football fans. Glorified are the careers of NFL superstars such as Ray Lewis, Troy Polamalu, and even the recently retired Hines Ward. With 24 Pro Bowl appearances, 5 Super Bowl rings, and 3 NFL Defensive Player of the Year awards combined, the glory is worthy. They have all had the fortune of enjoying...
Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin comfirmed during his Tuesday press conference that the team will indeed sign one quarterback and one wide receiver to the roster today.
Several media outlets are reporting that free agent wide receiver Plaxico Burress and quarterback Brian Hoyer are the players that will sign after they worked out for the team earlier in the day.
The 63 yard punt return for a touchdown by Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Jacoby Jones was certainly a huge play in the game as it gave them the lead for good against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Head coach Mike Tomlin was asked about the return after the game and if the Ravens did anything special on the play.
"It was a good effort by him," said Tomlin. "They did...

I have no idea what Mike Tomlin was thinking leaving Byron Leftwich out there when he was clearly hurt. There’s no real difference in talent level between him and Charlie Batch; in fact, I thought Batch should have been the starter in the first place after Ben Roethlisberger was ruled out. He’s a better fit for their quick throw, timing based offense...
