Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin held his weekly press conference Tuesday afternoon and he updated the injury report heading into the week as the team prepares to take on the New England Patriots this Sunday,.
Tomlin said wide receiver Markus Wheaton (finger) is being evaluated to determine his level of participation this week in practice. Guard David DeCastro (ankle) will be limited early this week in practice and might have an opportunity to play Sunday. Guard Ramon Foster (concussion) has been cleared by the doctors to practice and how he does will dictate which way they go with him. They will do what is appropriate with him.
Guy Whimper (knee) suffered an hyper-extended knee this past Sunday and he could be limited during the early portion of the week as well. Tomlin did say, however, that they do expect him to be available to not only practice but play against the Patriots.
Nose tackle Steve McLendon (illness) was sent home Monday as he was sick. Linebacker Lawrence Timmons (hand) continues to work through his broken hand, but it didn't limit his participation at all this past week, according to Tomlin.
