Safety Troy Polamalu (calf) and tackle Marcus Gilbert (ankle) have long been ruled out for Sunday and did not work Thursday as expected. Running back Rashard Mendenhall (achilles) also failed to practice on Thursday and it is looking very likely that he will miss his second consecutive game.

Steelers running back Rashard Mendenhall (Achilles) and Isaac Redman (ankle) didn't practice Wednesday, according to beat writer Bob Labriola.Fantasy Spin:The picture should get clearer later in the week. Jonathan Dwyer rushed for a Steelers' season-high 122 yards in their absence last week. If all three are available it will be interesting to see which way coach Mike Tomlin chooses to go.
The Pittsburgh Steelers will be without safety Troy Polamalu
and running back Rashard Mendenhall tomorrow when they take on the Washington Redskins.

It’s not wrong to jump on the bandwagon so to speak, when a guy like Jonathan...
The Pittsburgh Steelers might be a 3-3 team through six weeks, but they know that they are
going to have to run the ball a whole heck of a lot better than they have been over the course of
the first six games of the season if they have a chance to make it to the playoffs this year. This
week’s foe is the Washington Redskins, who are 4 ½-point underdogs on the opening...
To the surprise of many, the Pittsbugh Steelers held the Cincinnati Bengals to only one long drive. It came right at the beginning of the game and seemed to portend issues for the rest of the game. At the end of the night, though, the defense had given up around 180 total yards. After half-time the Bengals only accumulated two first downs. This isn’t a team that is exactly offensively...
When it comes to the NFL's most liked players, Troy Polamalu is head and shoulders above the rest.
Whether it's the commercials, the Super Bowl rings or the fact that Polamalu goes full throttle on every play, football fans have taken a real liking to the Steelers' Pro Bowl safety.
Ndamukong Suh, on the other hand, likely won't be receiving many...
Last week: 16 (+1) Record: 3-3 Whether or not the Steelers can make the playoffs really depends on when Troy Polamalu gets back. Their win last week was impressive, until you consider that the Bengals are very good. Without him, they’re a pretty average team overall, but with him, they can definitely make the playoffs. [...]
