While we still don't know the status of Pittsburgh Steelers right guard David DeCastro, who suffered an ankle injury Sunday in the loss to the Oakland Raiders, it probably is a good bet he will miss the next game against the New England Patriots. Should that indeed wind up being the case, the Steelers will start their fourth different offensive line combination this season.
So just how cursed has the Steelers offensive line been over the years? Heading into the game against the Patriots, the Steelers have used 21 different starting offensive line combinations in their last 55 regular season games.
I didn't have the stomach to pull the 2008 and 2009 seasons because I remember what happened in the first of the two years.
Below is a look back at the different offensive line combinations used by the Steelers dating back to Week 1 of the 2010 season.

Tuesday during his press conference, Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin was asked to talk about the performance of punter Zoltan Mesko through the first six games of the season and he made it clear that he needed to improve.
“It’s been a mixed bag until this point,” said Tomlin. “It’s been inconsistent. Just about every game over the last three games he has had...
The Pittsburgh Steelers lost in Oakland on Sunday and now find themselves three games out of the AFC North division lead, looking up at a streaking Cincinnati Bengals team. The Steelers are struggling on offense, scoring 27 points just once this season. In five games, they have failed to score even 20 points. With the playoffs slipping away, and the NFL Trade Deadline looming, the...
The Pittsburgh Steelers couldn’t keep the win streak alive but they could keep the streak of not winning a game in Oakland since 1995 in tact. The Steelers dropped to 2-5 on the year after they were defeated by the Oakland Raiders 21-18. Playing in the “black hole” proved to be too difficult of a task for this Steelers’ team.
Although the list of why the Steelers lost could...
I am far from the voice of reason. I am not the beginning or end of all things ‘Steelers.’ What I am however is opinionated. When we started steelcityblitz.com our goal was simple. Give real, honest opinions of the Pittsburgh Steelers.
We wouldn’t do fluff and tell you what you wanted to hear simply to gain followers and page views. I’m proud of what we’ve done here in...

Pittsburgh Steelers punter Zoltan Mesko had another rocky performance Sunday in the loss to the Oakland Raiders and head coach Mike Tomlin addressed that Tuesday during his weekly press conference when asked about it.
"With Mesko, the punting has been very similar to how it's been the previous weeks and really how I kind of characterized it," said Tomlin. "He&...
The momentum the Pittsburgh Steelers generated during a modest two-game winning streak has vanished.
Pittsburgh limped back home early Monday morning sitting at 2-5 on the season following an ugly 21-18 loss to the Oakland Raiders. The Steelers were undone by the same mistakes that have cost them repeatedly this fall.

The Steelers have announced that the team has released Zoltan Mesko.
Mesko was added before the start of the season after he was released from the New England Patriots. He ranked 31st in the NFL with a 36.7 yard average net per punt.
In his place, the Steelers have signed Mat McBriar, per Steelers.com:

Zoltan Mesko was brought in right before the start of the season and he replaced Drew Butler, and many thought the move would be an upgrade.
However, it appears that after some weak punting efforts, and a couple of errors in the Raiders game, that the Steelers may look to undue the Mesko-for-Butler move that they made.
Mesko has only averaged 42.4 yards per punt, and...

For whatever reason, we as Steeler fans are pretty much like the rest of society in that we feel we must lay blame for every thing that goes against out favor. It’s almost an American tradition.
With the Steelers 21-18 loss in Oakland tonight, the ‘Blame Game’ is in full effect in Steeler Nation.
Shaun Suisham is taking most of the blame and as well he should. He missed two...

Ramon Foster was ruled out for the Pittsburgh Steelers during halftime after it was determined that he sustained a concussion. It was also confirmed that the rest of the team merely played as though they had sustained concussions, but were actually fine. Despite leading the turnover margin 2-0 (and nearly 3-0), the Steelers enter the second half trailing the Oakland...
The Steelers waived punter Zoltan Mesko on Tuesday, after he had been inconsistent since being signed before the start of the regular season.
Mesko was signed on Sept. 2 following his release by the New England Patriots, and the Steelers in turn released second-year punter Drew Butler. Mesko ranked 16th in the AFC and 31st in the NFL among punters with a 36.7-yard net average. He...
