Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin told reports that G Willie Colon underwent surgery on his knee and is expected to miss ”several weeks,” per Ed Bouchette. Tomlin added that David DeCastro will get a shot at playing right guard, while Ramon Foster will likely replace Colon on the left side. As a unit, the Steelers have been better this season, but they still struggle to effectively run block. Losing Colon will certainly be a big obstacle for them up front. Pittsburgh has a tough road from here on out as they travel to Dallas this weekend and have home games against solid division teams like the Bengals and Browns.

Tomlin Says He Didn’t Go For Two Points Because He Wanted To Keep Plays In His Pocket

The Pittsburgh Steelers chances of overcoming a 24 point deficit Sunday in their loss to the San Diego Chargers were slim, but head coach Mike Tomlin didn't help matters when he chose not to go for two point conversions after third and fourth quarter touchdowns, which if converted, would have made it a two possession game in both instances. Tomlin was asked about the decision...

On Tuesday Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin confirmed during his press conference that left guard Willie Colon had surgery on his left knee on Monday. Beating Dallas Means More Than Just a Step Toward the Playoffs

Whether you were alive in the ’70′s or not, you damn well better know about the rivalry that ensued between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Dallas Cowboys. So-called “America’s Team” full of glamour and filled with a prim and proper style up against the “Men of Steel” from the harsh, dirty environment of the rust belt. Twice they would meet in two of the greatest Super...

Steelers playoff hopes alive but if they keep playing this poorly it won’t matter

The Steelers continue to receive gift after gift from the rest of the NFL. Even the loss today at Heinz Field, 34-24 to the lowly Chargers still leaves them in control of the 6th seed in the playoffs by virtue of the Ravens and Bengals both losing. I’ve said it many times this year, if the Steelers have 9 lives they are burning through at a rapid pace. As Mike Tomlin said in his...
