Steelers offensive lineman Mike Adams faced a scary situation Saturday morning, when he was hospitalized after an apparent car jacking attempt in Pittsburgh's South Side.
NFL.com reports the second-year right tackle was stabbed in the stomach after three assailants allegedly tried to steal Adams' truck.
Steelers GM Kevin Colbert confirmed the incident.
“We are aware of the situation regarding Mike Adams being stabbed earlier this morning,” Colbert said, via Steelers.com. “We are in direct communication with both Mike and his family. Mike is expected to make a full recovery."
Although Adams underwent surgery, no vital organs were hit. A full recovery is expected in six-to-eight weeks, but the 23-year-old is just glad to be alive.
After starting six games as a rookie, Adams is currently penciled in as the Steelers' starting right tackle.
