We’re not sure at this point if the 37 year-old Farrior will decide to retire, he had a fairly productive season in 2011 with 78 tackles and 2 sacks. Steelers might dump James Farrior next

According to Scott Brown of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, the agent of linebacker James Farrior believes his client could be the next player to get cut, just a day after veteran wide receiver Hines Ward was shown the door. “It’s not a done deal, but the percentages just aren’t there,” said Ralph Cindrich, who represents Farrior, per the Tribun-Review. Farrior is going into...

Steelers' cuts continue with James Farrior

James Farrior will be following Hines Ward and Aaron Smith out the door according to the Steelers' team website. The site said the cuts would be before the start of the NFL year, March 13th. Farrior, who had been with the Steelers since 2002, played in all but 6 games since arriving in Pittsburgh. Farrior was never the premier linebacker that the Steelers are notorious for churning...

Why the Steelers would be “ok” without James Farrior

This has been quite an offseason so far for the Steelers, and it’s just getting started. Between the Wallace debates, Todd Haley & Ben Roethlisberger, the Rooney’s, the salary cap, now Hines Ward being released there is plethora of questions the Steeler Nation is debating around the water cooler. I should preface the title though by saying I’m one of the biggest James Farrior...

James Farrior’s agent does not expect him to be a Steeler in 2012

James Farrior’s agent Ralph Cindrich tweeted this morning that percentages are not with his client returning to the Steelers for 2012.  Farrior will be entering his 16th season in the NFL if he was to return next season.  That would be 2 leaders and captains of this team in 2 days if this is true. It looked as if it was going to come down to Farrior and Foote to see who would...

Steelers to release James Farrior

Another day and another veteran gone.  The Steelers are really ripping off the band-aid this week, giving fans no time to grieve for one player before the next one has been cut.  Today it was James Farrior.  Of the ones cut this week, Hines Ward, Aaron Smith and Chris Kemoeatu, Farrior probably contributed the most this past season.  Though this isn’t quite a huge surprise...

Steelers Release Farrior

The Steelers have released veteran inside linebacker James Farrior. Fantasy Spin: The 37-year-old vet served the last 10 seasons in Pittsburgh, but dipped to just 78 tackles over 14 appearances in 2011, and the club is looking to get younger (and free up cap space), after also parting ways with aging vets Hines Ward and Aaron Smith. The Steelers could consider a linebacker at pick...

Steelers Might Lose Mike Wallace, Hines Ward, James Farrior

Out with the old and in with the new, we presume.  The Pittsburgh Steelers are not only releasing the franchise’s all-time leading receiver Hines Ward, but also look to cut veteran linebacker James Farrior and aren’t expected to franchise tag star receiver Mike Wallace, either. “It’s not a done deal, but the percentages just aren’t there,” Ralph Cindrich tells Scott...

Don’t get mad now that the Pittsburgh Steelers are doing what you what you told them to do.

You don’t have to be a Steelers fan to get a bit nostalgic as you watch what’s going down with their roster purging over the past few days. If you are a hardcore football fan even if you hate the Steelers you most likely respect what this group has done together and you were not prepared for such a deep cut. Who steps up to be the Steelers leader?

The Steelers will be releasing Hines Ward, James Farrior and Aaron Smith soon.  Farrior and Ward are the teams captains.  They have been for years.  Both were the unquestioned leaders of this team.  All on the team have followed them and would do anything for them.  The team also has not signed Max Starks and released Arnaz Battle.  Starks while it was not seen in the media...
