The Steelers will have their full stable of running backs on display Sunday Night and Rashard Mendenhall is expected to get the start. Mendenhall has only played one full game so far during the 2012 season, but had a nice performance against the Philadelphia Eagles with 101 total yards and a touchdown. Pittsburgh is hoping to get a big game out of their star running back; especially since they will be without starting quarterback Ben Roethlisberger. In his absence Jonathan Dwyer and Isaac Redman combined to put together three stellar performances in the running game and one not as stellar performance Monday night against the Chiefs. In the past it would have been laughable to expect to be able to run against the Ravens defense, but the 2012 Ravens are not the same Baltimore team that the Steelers are used to playing. Baltimore ranks 27th in total defense and 26th against both the run and pass. The Steelers on the other hand rank first in total defense, first against the pass, and sixth against the run. Oddly the Steelers and Ravens are tied for the 16th overall offense and both teams average 354.1 yards per game. So how are the Ravens 7-2? Well they average almost a touchdown more per game on offense in terms of points and only surrender two more points per game on defense than the Steelers. Baltimore also has a plus-9 turnover ratio while the Steelers stand even in the turnover department. One of the main reasons the Ravens have fallen off on defense is injuries. They are without MLB Ray Lewis (torn triceps) and CB Lardarius Webb (torn ACL) for the rest of the season. They just got back OLB Terrell Suggs (torn achilles) a few weeks ago.  DTs Terrance Cody and Haloti Ngata are playing injured as is Ed Reed (torn labrum) and their other starting corner, Jimmy Smith, just had groin surgery. That’s a lot of injuries for Baltimore, but the Steelers have suffered beyond their fair share of injuries this season and will not be showing the Ravens any sympathy on Sunday night. Pittsburgh instead will look to run against the Ravens interior defense. With Ngata and Cody playing injured and Ray Lewis out for the season there is a weakness on the inside of the Baltimore defense and the Steelers will look to expose it. Three’s a Crowd in Steelers’ Backfield

There are times when I miss the hi-jinx of Jack, Chrissy and Janet on the popular ’70′s and ’80′s show ‘Three’s Company’ simply because it was great comedy built around a simple premise and it didn’t take itself too seriously at all. For you youngsters, I highly suggest you check out that show on Netflix . There’s another trio that I’m much-less thrilled about...

Step up: 5 Steelers who need to amp their game

In the wake of Pittsburgh Steelers fans collective gasp after Ben Roethlisberger left with an unknown shoulder injury in the 3rd quarter against the Kansas City Chiefs, there will be a lot of pressure on both sides of the ball to compensate for No. 7’s absence going into the latter half of the season. Arguably having an MVP-quality season before the injury, Roethlisberger’s...
