Heath Miller According to Alan Robinson of the  Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, there’s a “strong possibility“ that Steelers TE Heath Miller will not be ready for the start of the regular season. Following an impressive season in which he lead the team in receptions, Miller suffered  a three-ligament knee tear was forced to undergo surgery. Matt Spaeth figures to step in and replace him as the team’s starting tight end if he is in fact unable to go come Week 1. Behind Spaeth, Pittsburgh has very limited options, so we’ll have to see how Miller’s knee progresses in the coming months. Ryan Clark Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports that the Steelers have yet to approach FS Ryan Clark regarding a contract extension. Clark, 34, is entering the final year of his contract with Pittsburgh and has already confirmed that he hasn’t heard anything from the front office regarding a new contract. Clark has made it known that he hopes to remain with the team beyond 2013. Many believe the team drafted Clark’s eventual replacement this year when they traded up to select Shamarko Thomas from Syracuse. Clark’s advanced age will almost certainly be a major consideration for the Steelers and possibly other prospective teams. He’ll have to play at a pretty high level to convince the team to keep him around for another season. The post Steelers Notes: Heath Miller & Ryan Clark appeared first on NFL Trade Rumors -.
