Steelers NT Casey Hampton has been a staple of Pittsburgh’s defense for the past 12 seasons, but the 35-year-old is set to become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season and there has been plenty of attention paid to the overall age of the team’s defense unit. Hampton appears to be more than aware of the situation that he’ll be faced with in March, but believes he was two more years left in him. “No question, I can see myself playing somewhere else,” said Hampton, per the Beaver County Times. ”But I definitely would not want to go anywhere else. Why would I want to do that?“ Hampton grades out as one of the worst nose tackles in the league, according to Pro Football Focus. The good news is that he’s still a serviceable run defender, but he offers nothing in regarding to interior pass rush at this point in his career. The Steelers must get younger on defense, so it makes sense that they would move on without Hampton next season. Pittsburgh should try to get Steve McLendon...

Two Changes the Steelers Must Make in 2013

The personnel side of changes will take care of themselves as the off-season begins about 4pm on Sunday for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Decisions of who will be cut and who will be scouted in the draft are already underway but there are two specific changes I’m looking forward to the Steelers making on the coaching staff. The first thing that needs to be addressed is somewhat taking...

The Debate Begins on Who Returns for Steelers in 2013

The 2012 Pittsburgh Steelers have not even played their final game yet and already the discussions in the media and in the blogosphere have begun on the speculation about 2013. Who takes a pay cut? Who gets cut? Who is re-signed? Who are they targeting in the draft? I can’t recall the last time we discussed such things in December that’s for sure. I’m going to take a look at...

Potential coaching changes already a hot topic for the Steelers, but not for Lebeau

The 2012 season isn’t officially over for the Steelers until this Sunday when the clock hits zeros in their final contest against the Browns. By then they’ll either by a .500 team or finish with a losing record for the first time in Mike Tomlin’s career. The coaching staff in Pittsburgh has taken a lot of heat this season, mainly on the offensive side of the ball. Tomlin will...

Mike Wallace Out For Browns Game & Has Likely Played His Last Game For The Steelers

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Mike Wallace will not play in the season finale against the Cleveland Browns according to Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and that should not come as a big surprise. https://twitter.com/gerrydulac/status/284717651840868352 Wallace, who has failed to practice all week because of a hip injury, will miss his first game since coming...

The NFL Will Gladly Sell You Photos Of Brett Keisel Performing An Unsportsmanlike Action

Don't you just love the smell of hypocrisy on a Friday, especially when it comes from the NFL? All of you certainly remember last Sunday when Pittsburgh Steelers defensive end Brett Keisel was flagged early in the game against the Cincinnati Bengals. Keisel was flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct for performing his signature sack celebration, in which he pretends to be...

Shockingly the Steelers are playing a meaningless game to closeout the season. Where to do they go from here? Week 17 Preview.

The Steelers are out of the playoffs, what motivation will they have to play the Browns this week? Entering the last week of the season I'm sitting at 153-87.  That's ok but not great.  I'd like to be over 170 for the season, but it is what it is at this point.  Let's finish strong. With teams resting players and teams out, I'll also take a look at the...

Ben Roethlisberger at a loss to explain drop in 4th quarter rallies this season

It was almost a staple in Pittsburgh. Being down in the fourth quarter pushed the Steelers offense into overdrive, with Big Ben manufacturing late rallies to win close games. This season, not so much, and QB Ben Roethlisberger can’t quite put his finger on it. He’s 2 for 7 in 8 games that were decided by 3 points. "In the past, I've prided myself and our team in...

NFL Coroner's Report: Pittsburgh Steelers Autopsy

It's appropriate here to pay tribute to TV's most famous coroner, Mr. Jack Klugman, who passed away Christmas Eve at age 90. Take care, sir, and remember: on those notes that Tony Randall left you in the beyond, "F.U." is nothing vulgar. In case you forget. This week's stuffing of the stiffs provides a challenge for the Football Nation ME's office, as a quartet...

On Thursday the 75-year-old defensive guru let it be known that he has every intention of returning in 2013 as long as head coach Mike Tomlin wants him back. ''Let's just say...
