Fantasy Football Champs:
The Pittsburgh Steelers are optimistic they will reach a new deal with wide receiver Mike Wallace before training camp, according to John Clayton of ESPN.
This is good news as there have been reports that Wallace will be a holdout if he doesnt get a lucrative long-term deal while currently a restricted free agent. As a side note, Pittsburgh has eight days to sign him before camp begins.
BEST OF MAXIM
The Steelers are set at the number one and number two receiver position. Mike Wallace is the guy. Even if he holds out for a little bit of camp he will still be the number one receiver. Antonio Brown came out of nowhere last season and took grasp of the number 2 role. These guys are basically cemented in to their spots.
That leaves a number 3 receiver battle in the works...
Pittsburgh Steelers safety Troy Plamalu said on the Dan Patrick show said that he had often lied to the Steeler's staff about the seriousness of an injury so that he would be clear to continue playing. He says he's had 8 or 9 concussions in his playing career.
“Yes, I have, for sure,” he said. He didn't necessary mean that he had a concussion and kept playing...
In this look back at the history of the Pittsburgh Steelers, we focus on late July and includes a torch being passed, a linebacker not working out in another city, a failed trade offer for a cornerback and snakes.

Training camp is just under a week away, and football fans and players all across the country are chomping at the bit to get back on the field. We are still six or seven weeks away from the start of the regular season, but we are only a few weeks away from the preseason. The Steelers had a disappointing exit to the playoffs last season, and their once dominant defense looks like...
Last year the Pittsburgh Steelers’ defensive age was a year older than any other seen post-2000. It was heard repeatedly that a team this old (2nd oldest overall) and more particularly a defense this old could not continue to produce at the level they had in previous years. However, lo and behold, the Steelers defense came [...]

Ron Jaworski recently finished his top 30 quarterback rankings in which Ben Roethlisberger was notched sixth, behind Eli Manning (5), Peyton Manning (4), Tom Brady (3), Drew Brees (2), and Aaron Rodgers. Jaworski’s comments about Roethlisberger were intriguing, especially when declared “[Ben is] on the cusp of becoming elite.”
On the cusp? Are you kidding me...
While many of us out there in the Steeler Nation use the term, ‘Steel Curtain’ to describe our defense, in my opinion there will always be just the one of the 1970′s. Mean Joe Greene, LC Greenwood, Ernie Holmes and Dwight White will forever be linked to that name and rightfully so.
Part of the problem with calling the current defensive line the same thing is that this line...
