Day 2 of the Steelers first full team, mostly at least, mini camp of 2012 is in the books. The following is a synopsis of the happenings on the field during practices and some brief comments from the players as they talked to the media.Several players were still not present but those that are absent are accounted for. The only player still missing due to anything other than an injury or personal matter is Mike Wallace. Per Mike Tomlin’s comments yesterday though, he expects the holdout to be short lived and Wallace will be back with the team soon.
However, knowing Mike Tomlin, you have to be careful how much you read into his statements. A short holdout doesn’t necessarily mean Wallace will be at the next voluntary OTA, which will run from May 29-31. It’s probably a safe assumption however that Wallace will be there for the mandatory team activities from June 12-14. Nothing is guaranteed yet but from what we know atleast he and Tomlin have been talking and there appears to be a mutu...

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Mike Wallace was absent from the first OTA session on Tuesday as expected, but he was in town last week and talked to head coach Mike Tomlin according to Tomlin himself.
Tomlin was asked following the first OTA session if he was disappointed that Wallace was not present and Tomlin replied, "Not all, man. This is a business, its an element of...
As always, these are my selections for the top 5 receivers in the NFL right now. I heavily weighted these guys in terms of their performances in 2011. Enjoy.
5. Mike Wallace
Mike Wallace is one of the most exciting young receivers in the NFL. His blazing speed creates huge mismatches in the secondary, and he opens up the Steelers running game as well as stretching the defense both...
The Pittsburgh Steelers returned to work Tuesday with a new offensive playbook but without Pro Bowl wide receiver Mike Wallace, who is working out on his own in Louisiana as he tries to finalize a new deal with the team.
Wallace has not yet signed the one-year deal worth around $2.7 million the Steelers offered the restricted free agent during the offseason and is working out on...
The Steelers show us that there's nothing wrong with having some fun at a typical practice.
The Steelers open up OTAs tomorrow. A big part of their offense will be missing when they do. Mike Wallace has yet to sign his RFA tender. He is also not expected to be at OTAs according to the Pittsburgh Post Gazette.
The Steelers are in the early stages of a new offense. This is valuable time for a guy like Wallace to get with his QB and work on timing in the new offense...
Before the draft, the buzz with Mike Wallace was whether or not another team would offer the restricted free agent an offer sheet and whether or not the Steelers would be willing or able to match if a team did so. That deadline for a team to do that, and surrender a 1st round pick, has passed, but the drama with Wallace is not over.
Wallace has made it clear he wants to be paid like...
As expected, wide receiver Mike Wallace was absent from the start of OTAs with the Steelers, according to the Associated Press.
Wallace, a restricted free agent, is yet to sign his tender of $2.74M - but head coach Mike Tomlin does not yet fear a holdout from the ultra-talented young receiver. Wallace is still hurting from missing practice while Pittsburgh installs...

Kaboly reported via Twitter that defensive end Brett Keisel...

The Steelers opened up their first round of OTAs today. As expected Mike Wallace was not in attendance. Wallace was in town to meet with Mike Tomlin last week though and he got his playbook. Wallace will wait as long as he can to sign his tender. He can not wait that long though. With a new offense he will have to get in tune with Roethlsiberger and the other wide receivers...
We’re still four months away from real football – hell, today is just the start of OTAs – but ESPN blogger Jamison Hensley felt like now is the appropriate time to name the five best receivers in the AFC North. And we’re not complaining…much.
Hensley posted “AFC North Top 5: Wide receivers” last night and the Steelers own two of the top three spots. For some reason...
The first OTA of the 2012 offseason is underway today for the Steelers. Their mini camp previously was only for rookies and those not on an NFL roster last season. Coach Mike Tomlin talked to the media today about getting things started and beginning to build the foundation of what the 2012 team will shape into in the coming months. Players such as Larry Foote, Willie Colon, Emmanuel...
Season 2, Episode 110 of The Terrible Podcast is up and David Todd and I are excited that day one of the OTA sessions for the Pittsburgh Steelers is finally here. We talk first about the rule that is prohibiting first, second and fourth round draft picks, David DeCastro, Mike Adams and Alameda Ta'amu from attending.

We’re going to keep hearing a lot of talk about Ben Roethlisberger and Todd Haley and the Rosetta Stone playbook now that the Steelers have kicked off OTAs. And we’re going to keep hearing about how Mike Wallace isn’t showing up for OTAs because it’s all business. And we’re even going to hear about how Troy Polamalu showed up on Day 1 for the first time in two years...
