Found December 23, 2011 on Bleed Black & Gold:
The Steelers have placed third round pick Curtis Brown on injured reserve.  Brown suffered a knee injury against the Cincinnati Bengals and has not played since the injury.  Brown made a living on special teams this year where he leads the team with 14 tackles and 2 forced fumbles.  Brown will be missed on special teams.  He was a real impact player. To replace Brown on the roster the Steelers promoted John Clay to the roster.  Clay will be used to fill in for Mwelde Moore on the roster.  Moore is down with a knee injury as well and will miss at least this week.

Antonio Brown Brown Breaks Steelers Record as He Eclipses 1000 Yards For First Time in His Young Career

Steelers second year receiver Antonio Brown broke a Steelers record today when he got 2,048 All Purpose yards from Scrimmage on the season.  While doing that he also  plateaued 1,000 yards for the first time in his young career today.  Brown came into the game needing 16 yards to reach 1,000.  He got it on a pass from Charlie Batch in the fourth quarter on a Steelers scoring...

Steelers QB Batch, not Roethlisberger, to face Rams

The Pittsburgh Steelers will start Charlie Batch at quarterback for Saturday's game against the St. Louis Rams. Ben Roethlisberger was expected to be given at least one week of rest as he recovers from an ankle injury. The 29-year-old Roethlisberger has thrown for 3,856 yards with 21 touchdowns and 14 interceptions in 14 games. Batch, 37, has thrown two incompletions this...

Ben Roethlisberger SHOULD Sit At Least Week 16 If Not Both

In Charlie Batch we must trust. Courtesy steelers.com Ben, Ben, Ben.  This might be the most attention you’ve received during the actual course of the football season and not just the offseason.  For those keeping up on Ben and his ankle and have been thinking about it, you may have already read Kimmy’s post about her thoughts on the matter.  She’s on the fence.  I, on...

Batch Will Start Tomorrow

Looks like the Steelers heard my pleas. Ben Roethlisberger will not play on Saturday, and Charlie Batch will be under center against the St. Louis Rams. The Steelers have likely accepted the fate of a fifth seed, content to play the AFC West champion on wildcard weekend. In the meantime, Ben Roethlisberger can work on getting healthy. By not working at all.

Thursday Night Injury Report: Rams at Steelers

The Steelers Injury list is relatively short this week.  They are heading into week 16 pretty healthy.  Minus Ben Roethlisberger’s status up in the air this team is pretty well set for who is in and out.  LaMarr Woodley returned to practice.  I will have to tell April to calm down.  Woodley could not practice a day after a game.  Rest the hamstring.  Rest.  Here is the...

If Charlie Batch Can’t Win, Why Does He Exist?

I’m going to wade into Steelers territory for just a moment. I think the title says it all but let me elaborate.  The Steelers started an obviously hurt Ben Roethlisberger against the 49ers in a must win situation. Did Ben look good to anyone? Now we must assume Ben started because he gave the Steelers [...]

McCoy, Browns still dazed by Harrison hit

Browns linebacker D'Qwell Jackson doesn't expect Pittsburgh's James Harrison to suddenly get soft _ or stop bending the rules.

Roethlisberger sits out practice to rest ankle

Pittsburgh quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has sat out Thursday's practice to rest his sprained left ankle and will be a game-time decision when the Steelers face St. Louis on Saturday.

No Ben, no problem: Steelers run over Rams

The Pittsburgh Steelers will need Ben Roethlisberger healthy in January to make another run to the Super Bowl. But they didn’t need him today to roll over the St. Louis Rams. With Charlie Batch starting at quarterback, the Steelers beat the Rams with a ground-based attack and a stiff defense that forced quarterback Kellen Clemens…

St. Louis Rams (2-12) vs. Pittsburgh Steelers (10-4)

The Rams have lost five games in a row but they showed signs of life last weekend against the Bengals.  The Steelers got thumped hard by the 49ers last Monday Night, 20-3 in San Francisco.  The Steelers really need this game but they will be starting Charlie Batch at QB.  Here is a look at the matchups in this game: When the Rams have the ball:  The Rams are going to try to slug...
