Steelers sign WR speedster Devon Wylie to their practice squad

I have always loved Devon Wylie and today he was signed by a team that can really use him.  Wylie was an explosive wide out coming out of college, and was drafted in the 4th round in 2012.  Today the Steelers signed Wylie to their practice squad.  Wylie was a very solid kick and punt […]

Steelers Injury Report: Injuries Suffered By Levi Jones And David Johnson Potentially Serious

Following the Pittsburgh Steelers 19-6 win Sunday over the New York Jets, head coach Mike Tomlin address ed the injury situation coming out the game during his post game press conference. Tackle Levi Brown (triceps) injured his triceps during pregame warmups and did not play as a result. Tomlin said he would be evaluated when the team returns to Pittsburgh. Tomlin didn't want...

Steelers Will Not Be Giving Up a Pick for OT Brown After All

Well that was fast. The Levi Brown era at left tackle was over before it started, literally. Straining his triceps in the pre-game warmup before Sunday's win at the Jets, Brown has been placed on injured reserve and is out for the year. The Steelers had traded a conditional draft pick for Brown but according to the fine print of the trade, that was only if Brown had played...

The Steelers Acquiring Levi Brown Wasn't the Worst Player Addition in the AFC North

Levi Brown was acquired by the Steelers over their bye week to shore up the LT position notoriously muffed by Mike Adams. Adams was not available to play in the ensuing game against the Jets...where LEVI BROWN INJURED HIS TRICEPS DURING WARMUPS. The Steelers noted that Brown is now gone for the rest of the season. Levi Brown's tenure as a Steeler was so short that I cannot...

Mike Tomlin Bans Steelers From Flipping into Endzone

Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin has been a little upset lately. First, he banned games from being in team’s locker room. Now he is banning the team from flipping into the endzone. This comes right after Emmanuel Sanders did he flip into the endzone after a 55 yard TD catch on Sunday. Hey who needs Roger Goodell to take the fun out of the game when coaches will do it...

Roethlisberger, Brown, Clark And Allen Played The Best In Jets Game Per PFF

As you would probably expect, Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger and wide receiver Antonio Brown received the highest grades from Pro Football Focus for their play Sunday in the win over the New York Jets. Roethlisberger was 23-of-30 for 264 yards in the game while Brown caught nine of 11 passes thrown his way for 86 yards. As far as the rest of the offense, PFF has...

Times are tough in the Steel city. Pittsburgh can't seem to beat a team with their physical skillset on the field, so why not play head games with them?

Steelers Get Much Needed First Win

When you really think about it, this game just seemed to fit everything the Pittsburgh Steelers needed in order to get win number one of the 2013 NFL season. The New York Jets were coming off a short week following their win in Atlanta. They had a rookie QB going and historically Dick LeBeau does very well against them. Lastly, Mike Tomlin made good on his promise to sit guys who...

Deep Touchdown Pass To Sanders Against Jets Set Up And Executed Perfectly

The long touchdown pass from Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger to wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders on the first offensive possession of the second half was not only executed perfectly, it was set up perfectly as well. The Steelers took possession of the football at their own 36 yard-line up three points and ran running back Le'Veon Bell off right guard on first...

A Good Trick Play With A Bad Result Against The Jets

Like many of you, I questioned the fourth quarter trick-play call ran by the Pittsburgh Steelers against the New York Jets this past Sunday on third down and seven from the Jets 17 yard-line. Why take the ball out of the hands of quarterback Ben Roethlisberger in a situation like that and put it into the hands of wide receiver Antonio Brown? With that being said, the play should...
