The status of Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger for Monday’s game against the San Francisco 49ers could depend on the outcome of the Sunday night contest between the Baltimore Ravens and San Diego Chargers. Roethlisberger is questionable for Week 15 after suffering a high ankle sprain in last Thursday’s win over the Cleveland Browns. The thinking behind the Steelers' plans is that if Baltimore losses Sunday, they may be able to afford resting their No. 1 quarterback. The Ravens (10-3) have an opportunity to clinch the top seed in the AFC if they can win out in their final three games, starting with the Chargers Sunday night. Baltimore has won four straight games heading into the weekend. Pittsburgh (10-3) has also won four in a row and finishes the season against San Francisco, St. Louis and Cleveland. Baltimore finishes against San Diego, Cleveland and Cincinnati.
