The Pittsburgh Steelers suffered an injury to one of their running backs on Sunday as Bob Labriola reports via Twitter that second year running back John Clay has been taken off on a cart after suffering an unspecified injury. The Steelers were already thin at the running back position heading into the Sunday practice as both Isaac Redman (groin) and Jonathan Dwyer (shoulder) were both held out of practice with minor injuries. In addition, Rashard Mendenhall (knee) remains limited to working on the side with trainers as he is still on the PUP list, and will remain there to start the regular Read more [...]

Report: Steelers Name David DeCastro Starting Right Guard

Sooner or later it was going to happen, but in the case of Pittsburgh Steelers first round draft pick David DeCastro, sooner is certainly better as Jim Wexell reported today via Twitter that offensive line coach Sean Kugler announced that DeCastro was now the starting right guard. Kugler had said just last week that the rookie was coming on in practice. The Stanford product, who...

Pittsburgh Steelers May Have to Look to Free Agency for Depth at Fullback After David Johnson's ACL Injury

Now that the first preseason game is out of the way, as well as the first major injury of the 2012 campaign, the Pittsburgh Steelers will be able to regroup and continue training camp. However, that injury, losing fullback David Johnson for the season to an ACL tear, may be cause for concern moving forward.Unlike past seasons under former offensive coordinator Bruce Arians, where...

Mike Adams expects to return within 2 weeks, Steelers have options to explore at Left Tackle

The news could have been worse, much worse for the Steelers after their loss to Philadelphia cost them David Johnson for the season with a torn ACL, and then seeing rookie Mike Adams go down with a knee injury too. After the game it was speculated that the injury to Adams wasn’t as severe as that of DJ, the TE/FB who was having a real nice camp and it’s a shame this had to happen...

2012 Fantasy Football Sleeper: Emmanuel Sanders

Yeah, I didn’t think I was going to write this post either and yet here we are in training camp and Mike Wallace is still a no show in Pittsburgh.  Of course, I’m on vacation which means I will be away just when the news breaks and Wallace has signed and is back with the team just to make this post look silly.  Overall, I think the holdout is a vast conspiracy to really muck...

On the Steelers; The O-line shake-up continues with Adams injury

The Pittsburgh Steelers offensive line issues go back several years. Even when the team was making and winning Super Bowls questions about the line’s ability to protect Ben Roethlisberger were still in vogue. With the drafting of Mike Adams and David DeCastro and the resigning of Max Starks, GM Kevin Butler and Head Coach Mike Tomlin finally put heavy emphasis on the offensive...

On the Steelers; Brown-Taylor fight nothing new so why the big deal?

If you have siblings, then you get it. If you have ever spent a year or more in a college dormitory then you get it. If you have worked in the same office with the same people day after day, then you get it too. What you are ‘getting’ is that these environments and situations can cause friction. A lot of friction that can sometimes be combustible. Such is what happens at NFL...
