Found January 05, 2013 on Steelers Depot:
It certainly wasn't a great season for the Pittsburgh Steelers when it came to running the football in 2012. In fact, it was a down right lousy one. They ended the season with 1,537 net yards rushing and that was the lowest output since 2003 when they rushed for 1,488 yards. The Steelers offensive line once again suffered through several injuries in 2012 on their way to starting 7 different line combinations over the course of the season and that certainly plsayed a role in the running game being lousy. The hardest position hit on the line this season was right tackle where Marcus Gilbert started Read more [...]

Pittsburgh Steelers 2013 Free Agents Analysis: QB Charlie Batch – Unrestricted

The Pittsburgh Steelers offseason has started and it is that time of year unfortunately to start breaking down and analyzing the free agents as we head towards the start of free agency. We will knock out a few of these a week and will start with the unrestricted free agents first before moving to the restricted and exclusive rights free agents. First up on the list of unrestricted...

In Need For A Lead: Steelers Need A Feature Runner in 2013

By Jeremy Hritz When you think of the Pittsburgh Steelers and the running game, the names Harris, Bettis, Foster, and Parker come to mind. When you think of running backs on the current Steelers team, the names don’t exactly conjure up images of broken tackles, big runs, and streaks of 100-yard games. Consistency was a serious issue for the 2012 Steelers across the board, but...

Steelers New Offensive Line Coach may be Most Important Decision of the 2013 Off-Season

The Pittsburgh Steelers watched for years as Ben Roethlisberger was sacked again and again due to a poor offensive line in front of him. In a four year stretch from 2006 to 2009 Roethlisberger was sacked at least 46 times per season and even hit 50 sacks in 2009. Following that dreadful 2009 season the Steelers knew it was time to protect their franchise quarterback. In the subsequent...

Tomlin Was Right About One Thing

In his final press conference of the disappointing 2012 season, Pittsburgh Steelers’ Head Coach Mike Tomlin was for the most part his usual self. Watching and listening to a Tomlin presser is often like trying to decipher a Little Orphan Annie Decoder ring. It starts out with all kinds of anticipation and then leaves you feeling completely perplexed and disappointed. In other words...

Steelers’ Todd Haley Will Interview for Cardinals Head Coaching Job; What Happens if he Leaves?

Todd Haley was the Arizona Cardinals offensive coordinator in 2007 and 2008. He called the plays for the Cardinals offense that led them to Super Bowl 43; the only Super Bowl in franchise history. During his time with the Cardinals Haley formed a strong relationship with the Cardinals’ ownership. After the 2008 season Haley left the Cardinals to become the Kansas City Chiefs head...

Todd Haley likely has the advantage in Cardinals Head Coaching vacancy

Todd Haley has to have an advantage over other candidates to be interviewed for the job of Head Coach in Arizona, other than maybe Ray Horton (current Defensive Coordinator). His good relationship and reputation with the franchise may very well help be a deciding factor when it’s all said and done. If he really wants this job it’s probably his to lose. If there is a place where...

Tough times ahead for the Pittsburgh Steelers offseason in 2013

The 2012 season for the Pittsburgh Steelers was tough mentally and physically for the players, coaches and the fans. Fear is hardly a word you hear thrown around when it comes to the Steelers, but the retirement of Hines Ward was the first sign of the decline of the once proud Steelers. The Steelers with all of their Super Bowl pieces starting to show their age like James Harrison...

Could the Steelers Place the Franchise/Transition Tag on Mike Wallace or Keenan Lewis?

The Steelers will have the franchise tag and transition tag at their disposal once again this off-season, but once again it is questionable as to whether they will choose to use either one. Of their free agents only two are deserving of the type of money that comes with either tag: corner Keenan Lewis and wide receiver Mike Wallace. Wallace will be an unrestricted free agent this...

Pittsburgh Steelers Number One Offseason Priority Should Be Cornerback Keenan Lewis

When the Pittsburgh Steelers have a disappointing season, there are always differing opinions on the cause. Was it the offense? Was it the defense? All great questions that fans continually ask, while complimenting them with what can be done to get the team back on top.In looking back at 2012, the situation leading to the demise was a combined effort. Injuries to key players took...

The Pittsburgh Steelers Should Strongly Consider Going Offensive Line In The First Round Again In 2013

The Pittsburgh Steelers took highly rated guard David DeCastro out of Stanford with the 24th overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft. DeCastro was the number one rated guard in the draft and no one thought that he would drop that far to the Steelers. With that pick and the selection of center Maurkice Pouncey in 2010, the Steelers took an offensive lineman in the first round in two of...

Steelers Offensive Draft Needs: Replacements for Mike Wallace and Rashard Mendenhall Could be Addressed

The Steelers offense is much younger when compared to the defense. Over the past few years the Steelers have focused on the offensive line in an effort to resurrect the run game and protect Ben Roethlisberger. It will be up to the Steelers front office and coaches to determine whether or not they are content with their offensive lineman and where they stand in terms of position...

During Wilson’s senior year, he played in all 12 games and led the team with 105 tackles, 9 tackles for loss and also had one sack, one force fumble, one fumble recovery, one interception and one pass breakup. Season 3, Episode 64 of The Terrible Podcast is up and co-host David Todd and I start by talking about the new from Thursday that centered around the possibility of Pittsburgh Steelers offensive coordinator Todd Haley getting the vacant head coaching position with the Arizona Cardinals. What If Todd Haley Gets The Cardinals Job – An “If’s & But’s” Post

Ah, "if's and but's." Unless you live under a rock you should know by now that Pittsburgh Steelers offensive coordinator Todd Haley is scheduled to interview with the Arizona Cardinals for their vacant head coaching position later on this week. Will anything come out of that interview? One can only speculate, but Mike Jurecki of XTRA 910 in Arizona seems to think...
