According to several media reports, the Pittsburgh Steelers have signed former Arizona Cardinals running back LaRod Stephens-Howling to a one-year deal on Friday.
Stephens-Howling visited with the Steelers earlier this month, but was not signed.
In his four seasons with the Cardinals, the Pittsburgh product rushed for 651 yards and five touchdowns on 182 carries. He also registered 534 more yards and three touchdowns on 56 receptions, and another 4,067 yards and three touchdowns on 163 kickoff returns.
The signing of Stephens-Howling is merely a depth move, in my opinion, and has absolutely Read more [...]

Daniel Jeremiah of the NFL Network is reporting Saturday morning on Twitter that the Pittsburgh Steelers are trying to trade running back Jonathan Dwyer.
Dwyer, the Steelers sixth-round draft pick in 2010, is considered to be the more marketable running back on the roster currently, but is also only under contract for 2013 after signing a one-year restricted tender in the amount...
Pencils down. It is now time for you to vote in the poll below as to who you think the Pittsburgh Steelers will draft in the first round of the 2013 NFL draft that gets underway this evening in New York City. The list of names include all of the players that I have seen associated as possibly being the pick over the course of the last several months. I believe only 400 votes can...
Steelers.com The Pittsburgh Steelers addressed two needs in round two of the 2013 NFL Draft by replacing running back Rashard Mendenhall with Michigan State running back Le’Veon Bell with the 48th overall pick and replaced wide receiver Mike Wallace with Oregon State wide receiver Markus Wheaton with the 79th overall pick.
Georgia linebacker Jarvis Jones is the Pittsburgh Steelers first linebacker selected in the first round since Lawrence Timmons in 2007 and the first outside linebacker they have picked since Huey Richardson in 1991, one of the teams biggest busts ever.
The Pittsburgh Steelers used their 115th overall draft pick to select Oklahoma quarterback Landry Jones. Jones, 6-foot-3 and 221-pounds, started 50-0f-42 games at Oklahoma passing for 4,267 yards and 30 touchdowns as a fifth-year senior. Jones said he
Pittsburgh Steelers general manager Kevin Colbert never likes to refer to drafted players as needs. Instead, he likes to call them wants. On Friday, it is quite obvious that needs is indeed the correct word to use as the Steelers drafted Michigan State running back Le'Veon Bell in round two of the 2013 NFL draft and Oregon State wide receiver Markus Wheaton in the third round...
The Pittsburgh Steelers have wrapped up their NFL draft by taking defensive tackle Nick Williams with their seventh-round pick.
The 6-foot-4, 320-pound Williams will likely be moved to defensive end at some point. Defensive line coach John Mitchell calls Williams a raw talent who plays quicker than many players his size.
Williams was a highly touted high school basketball player...
The Arizona Cardinals have selected Tyrann Mathieu with the No. 69 overall pick in the 2013 NFL Draft. Photo Via BlackSportsOnline Matheiu may come with a major warning label, but he’s well worth the risk in the third round, especially with the Cardinals. Arizona did manage to land former Colts cornerback Jerraud Powers and ex-Chargers CB Antoine Cason and also brought back Rashad...
When the Arizona Cardinals decided to take a gamble on Tyrann Mathieu, they kept in mind the impact that cornerback Patrick Peterson has and would have on him in 2013 and beyond. Peterson has been a friend and mentor to Mathieu, and it maybe just the right situation for him to be in as he enters the NFL. "Just these last six months (Peterson's) just been a big brother...
Andre Ellington was picked by the Arizona Cardinals in the sixth-round with the 187th overall pick.
The Steelers touched on most of their needs this draft weekend except one big one: depth for the offensive line.
The 2013 NFL draft is finally here and tonight the first round selections will be made. You can use this post to discuss round one of the draft throughout the evening. Feel free to post your first round mock drafts in this post and I will add mine to it later in the day as time permits.
I will have a separate post up following the first pick made by the Pittsburgh Steelers so...
Chargers choose Manti Te’o in the second round
Teo (pronounced TAY-oh, first name is MAN-tie) decided to follow the example of his former teammate, receiver Michael Floyd, in returning to South Bend for his senior year despite having the talent to leave early for the NFL. Floyd parlayed a very good final campaign with the Irish into a first-round draft slot, as he was...
