The Pittsburgh Steelers announced Wednesday that they re-signed rookie nose tackle Alameda Ta'amu to the practice squad.
Ta'amu had been released from the 53-man roster on Monday when the Steelers promoted wide receiver David Gilreath from the practice squad because of the ankle injury to wide receiver Antonio Brown.
Ta'amu cleared the 24 hour waiver period on Tuesday at 4 p.m. eastern and was then a free agent.
The Washington product faces a number of misdemeanor and felony for the October incident with the Pittsburgh police.

Below are the offensive player play counts and participation chart for the Pittsburgh Steelers week 10 win over the Kandas City Chiefs.
As I posted recently, the Steelers once again made it through another game with all five of their offensive lineman playing every snap. It is too bad that the same can't be said about quarterback Ben Roethlisberger.
Excuses might be tools of the imcompetent, but the Steelers' wide receivers had a wagon full of them after their historically puny output without Antonio Brown on Monday.
There’s any number of statistics heading into tonight’s Monday Night Match-up with the Kansas City Chiefs that scare the crap right out of me and now here’s another one; Since the Pittsburgh Steelers lost to the Kansas City Chiefs in the 1994 AFC Wild-Card Playoffs in overtime, the teams have alternated wins every game since. That would be a total of ten games with the Steelers...
When the Steelers confirmed this past weekend that receiver Antonio Brown was going to be officially out of the Monday night game against the Chiefs, no one was surprised. Those ankle sprains are nothing to take lightly and as the week goes on they tend to become more problematic. The only real thing you can do is rest and rehab with the trainers. Mike Tomlin initially called it...
