The Steelers announced via their website that sixth-round pick Vince Williams has agreed to a contract with the team. A physical player at inside linebacker, Williams is viewed as a possible long-term solution to Larry Foote. Williams will try to stick with the team earning a role on special teams. Josh Alper of Profootballtalk.com writes: ‘Williams wasn’t invited to the combine despite starting his last two years at Florida State, where he had 13.5 tackles for loss and three sacks. Williams is one of the new faces making for a different looking Steelers team at OTAs this month. His work at those sessions will help determine how much we see of that face.’

Somebody Needs To Get Steelers Rookie QB Landry Jones A Terrible Towel, Pronto!

The first OTA session of the 2013 season for the Pittsburgh Steelers will get underway on Tuesday and I sure do hope that somebody gets rookie quarterback Landry Jones a Terrible Towel during the week, and more importantly, explains the history of it to him. Why? According to an interview that Jones did last week at the 17th Annual NFLPA Rookie Premiere, he doesn't know much...

Mike Wallace is not an athlete but he plays one on TV

You can make the sour grapes argument; I will eat that. But also realize that what I say is accurate enough to make such bold proclamations, and that I hold the young Dolphin accountable for self-serving behavior while playing a on a team, in a team sport. I have zero respect for any athlete who gives up on a play, fizzles a route, takes a play off, or drops an assignment on purpose...

Pittsburgh Steelers Offensive Line Preparing for a Better Year in 2013

The Pittsburgh Steelers offensive line has been one of the biggest weak points on the team over the past few years. Injuries and inconsistent play have taken a toll not only on the line, but on the offense as a whole. Over the past three years the Steelers run game has continued to drop in production. That number could be targeted at the offensive line’s play over the past few...

The Pittsburgh Steelers first OTA session of the 2013 season got underway on Tuesday, and it appears that first-round draft pick, linebacker Jarvis Jones, might have aggravated a hamstring injury that suffered during his March Pro Day, according to a Tuesday evening report by Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. Several Things To Look For During The Steelers First OTA Session Of 2013

The first OTA session of the 2013 off-season for the Pittsburgh Steelers will get underway on Tuesday, and while we aren't likely to learn a lot from it, there will be a few things I will be looking for specifically in the reports from the media. Tackle Sides - Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin was pretty much non-committal about who will play what tackle spot when he talked to...

Recent Pittsburgh Steelers History Says Reggie Dunn Has a Shot at Making the Roster

So far the most talked about player heading into off-season workouts and training camp for the Pittsburgh Steelers is not a second or third year player, or a draft pick, but an undrafted rookie free agent. Reggie Dunn played three years for the Utah Utes and became one of the best return men in the country. He was so well known for his return skills that teams kicked away from him...

The Steelers, Johnny Unitas, and The Doors

In 1967 the NFL turned 48, while the Pittsburgh Steelers celebrated 35 years. Pittsburgh started strong on September 17th versus the Chicago Bears. A tight first quarter saw the Bears lead 13 - 10 but Chicago let the game slip away and the Pittsburgh Steelers went on to score 31 unanswered points and close the contest 41 – 13. The highs of victory soon became the sediment that...

Photo: Worst Steelers tattoo of all-time?

Tattoos are often hit or miss. Some turn out great, while others turn out, well, like the one you see above.Seen here is arguably the worst Pittsburgh Steelers tattoo of all-time. It could be the worst of all-time because the circular outline is noticeably imperfect, or it could be because the fan initially forgot how to spell Steelers, only to squeeze in an extra "e" after...

What If Worilds Succeeds In 2013?

By Jeremy Hritz James Harrison is gone and is now in the land of the Bungles, apparently motivated by the Pittsburgh Steelers cutting ties with him. In week two of the approaching NFL season, Harrison will get his first opportunity to make his former team still wish they had his services, while Jason Worilds will be hoping to prove that the Steelers made the correct call. Sure...
