Found September 24, 2013 on Steelers Depot:
Pittsburgh Steelers running back Jonathan Dwyer had two great blitz pickups and two nice runs Sunday night against the Chicago Bears, but he could have had another big one in the game as well. Below is yet another example of Dwyer's inability to read blocks as he consistently leaves yards out on the field. It is getting tiring pointing these out. On first and ten from the Steelers own 41 yard-line, Dwyer takes a delayed handoff from Ben Roethlisberger and runs left for one yard. As you can see in both of the still shots and animated gifs, Dwyer has a huge lane to his right that he misses. There are six Bears defenders trapped in the middle of the field and no defensive backs in sight. The Steelers were only down seven points at the time and this was the first play of the fourth quarter. If Dwyer reads this right, he goes for at least ten yards and possibly more as he will get a rematch with safety Chris Conte, who he punished earlier in the game. Dwyer had 39 yards rushing in th...

Steelers RB Le’Veon Bell is ‘going to play’ against Vikings

Mike Tomlin says running back Le’Veon Bell is “going to play” Sunday when the Pittsburgh Steelers face the Minnesota Vikings in London. Bell has been sidelined since sustaining a mid-foot sprain in an Aug. 19

Pittsburgh could face Matt Cassell this week in London

Today Tom Brady could have dropped some sensitive information like something you would expect from Adam Schefter. The whole thing started when Brady was asked about his relationship with former Patriots backup quarterback Brian Hoyer, who threw three touchdown passes in the Browns 31-27 win over the Vikings on Sunday. That question led Brady to give […]

Steelers Will Set A Super Bowl Era Franchise Record Next Sunday If They Fail To Get A Turnover

The Pittsburgh Steelers failed to create a defensive turnover for a third straight game Sunday night in their 40-23 loss to the Chicago Bears and the last time they accomplished that feat was during the 2009 season during the stretch that they were supposed to be unleashing the hell. In the Super Bowl era, the Steelers have never gone four straight games without getting a turnover...

Ben Roethlisberger Says He’s Unable To Get a Read On Le’Veon Bell

Pittsburgh Steelers rookie running back Le'Veon Bell is on course to make his NFL regular-season debut Sunday in London Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings, but quarterback Ben Roethlisberger said Tuesday morning during his radio show that he's not positive that will come to fruition. "Honestly, I have no idea with him," Roethlisberger said on 93.7 The Fan. "...

Report: Steelers WR Antonio Brown Fined For Penalties Committed Against The Bears

According to Mark Kaboly of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown was fined in excess of $16,000 by the league on Wednesday for the two penalties he committed Sunday night in the 40-23 loss to the Chicago Bears. Brown, who will reportedly appeal both fines, was first flagged during the game for a facemask call on Sherrick McManis in the third...

Common Traits Atop Steelers Running Back Depth Chart No Coincidence

By Matthew Marczi What a fall it has been for Pittsburgh Steelers running back Isaac Redman. In just the span of a few weeks, he has gone from starter to personal escort, playing just to help push Ben Roethlisberger forward on a third and one for a first down. There have been some extenuating circumstances that have led Redman to being demoted behind new co-starters Le’Veon Bell...

Steelers' turnover-prone offense good match for Vikings

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. -- The Legend of the Pittsburgh Steelers has been built on its ferocious "Steel Curtain" defense over the years. Pittsburgh still ranks among the league leaders in fewest yards allowed, a category it's placed in the top five in the league each of the past five seasons. But the Steelers are the only team in the league this season without a takeaway...

Pittsburgh Steelers: Rookie Le'Veon Bell set for London debut

PITTSBURGH - The Pittsburgh Steelers are 0-3. Built on running the football since becoming one of the most successful franchises since the 1970's, they rank 31st in the NFL. Pittsburgh are looking to get their first win of the season and might do so on foreign soil. The Steelers are the road team, no pun intended when they travel to London to take on the Minn...

Ben Roethlisberger Says He Isn’t Sure He Can Count RB Le’Veon Bell

Wow Ben Roethlisberger has some nerve. I can remember Steelers center Alan Faneca once publicly questioning if a rookie quarterback named BenRoethlisberger was the guy to lead the Steelers. Two Super Bowl appearances later, I think Roethlisberger has proven that he can play.  So it was a bit shocking that Big Ben would publicly blast a rookie and question his effort and his skills...

Some Optimism For An 0-3 Steelers Team

The Pittsburgh Steelers have started the season 0-3 and they are now off to London later this week to play the winless Minnesota Vikings. While an 0-3 start is normally a death sentence, I do believe there are some reasons to be optimistic moving forward and here they are in the form of bullet points. Getting out of the country is perhaps just what this team needs right now and...

Jay Cutler trucked the crap out of Steelers DB Robert Golden (GIF)

Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler had arguably the best hit of Week 3 during his team’s win over the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday night. With Chicago leading 27-24 in the fourth quarter, Cutler took off and scrambled for 13 yards to pick up a crucial first down on 3rd-and-10. Steelers safety Robert Golden made the […]

The Pittsburgh Steelers and the anatomy of a sucker bet

I was watching some NFL action on Sunday with friend and sometimes-contributor, Andy. He noticed the line on the Chicago Bears as Pittsburgh Steelers game was only the Bears by a point. He was right. The Bears were only 1 point favorites in a game that most figured to be pretty awful, at least from a Steelers fans perspective. But why? Most Vegas books had the line starting at 2.5...

Rookie Buck LB Earning Respect

Dick LeBeau's never had a rookie call his defensive signals for the Steelers until Vince Williams came along.
