On Thursday, Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Matt Spaeth returned to the practice field for the first time since suffering a Lisfranc injury in training camp and after practice he was asked about his level of participation. "Some individual stuff, a little bit of team stuff," said Spaeth. "I didn't do a lot, but I did a little bit of everything." Spaeth, who said it felt good to be back, still has no idea when he will be activated back to the 53 man roster. "Yeah, I mean that's the plan and I know that this is day one of the three week window, so when that happens, I have no idea, but that is definitely the plan," he said. Spaeth talked about the rehab process following his surgery that included running in a pool and on a treadmill. In addition, he knows he'll have to monitor his foot once he starts doing more in practice. "I think it's going to be interesting everyday to see how it responds," said Spaeth. "The more I do, the more I'll really have to pay attention to it, but so far, so good." Judging by some limited video that come out of Thursday's practice, Spaeth is just going through the motions right now. There is no way that he will be ready to play this Sunday against the Cleveland Browns and I will be very surprised if he is ready to play next Thursday night against the Baltimore Ravens judging by the looks of things and the time period involved. The Steelers now have 21 days before they have to make a final decision on his status, so the earliest I can see him returning to the field would be for the Week 14 home game against the Miami Dolphins.
