In Sunday Night’s in-division game between the Steelers and the Ravens, Steelers starting QB Byron Leftwich took a beating and hobbled off the field several times. He finished the game however, wincing at every hit he took and babied a shoulder injured on his touchdown run in the first Quarter.
Now, according to Jason LaCanfora of CBSSports, the Steelers will workout QB’s this week as they feel Leftwich will miss some time.
Steelers concerned Leftwich will be out for a while with injuries, Big Ben in doubt for Sun so they expect to workout QBs this week

The Steelers third string QB, Charlie Batch will likely get the nod while the team waits for either Ben Roethlisberger or Byron Leftwich to heal.

Steelers fans were calling for Batch on several social media outlets last night as it was evident that Leftwich was struggling with what was reported as a rib injury although he was nursing his shoulder throughout the night.
Batch is a 15-year veteran who has been with the Steelers since 2002. His last game action was in 2011 where he led the Steelers to a 27-0 win over the St Louis Rams.
Prior to that, Batch was named the Steelers starter in 2010 while Ben Roethlisberger was suspended by the NFL for four games, he went 2-2 in that stretch.
There aren’t many QB’s to choose from at this point, but better news for the Steelers is that David Garrard would be a suitable back-up for the time being, and he’s healthy and ready to roll according to Jay Glazer of Fox Sports.
Next to Garrard, there is Donovan McNabb, Mark Brunell and Jake Delhomme. Mind you, they’d need a just-in-case guy.

Tweet Pittsburgh Steelers back up quarterback Byron Leftwich isn’t exactly known as the fastest QB in the league. He’s actually one of the slowest. Most Steelers fans weren't giving the team a shot during the first of two bouts against the Baltimore Ravens in the next 3 weeks. Yes, it’s me again. After a month off, cause that’s how I roll, I’m here to bring you a summary of last night’s football themes event colored with my own funny ha-ha’s, hopefully some charming and profoundly sensual anecdotes, all mixed with plenty of Roethlisberger rape references.
