The Steelers were “excited” when they got to draft David DeCastro. It seems like they may have been a little antsy as well when getting ready to select him. There is a rumor running around right now that the Steelers were planning on trading up to the number 16 pick with the Jets to get DeCastro. I may have been yelling the same thing at the TV.
It appears that the Steelers and I were thinking on the same lines. I thought they needed to get in front of Cincinnati to get DeCastro. The Bengals had 2 major needs. They were cornerback and guard. With DeCastro being a top 10 prospect I was nervous the Bengals would grab him. It turned out that they would pick Dre Kirkpatrick. We lucked out but I would not have complained if we would have made the move.
