According to the Tuesday NFL transactions release, the Pittsburgh Steelers have waived safety Da'Mon Cromartie-Smith from their reserve/injured list. Cromartie-Smith was waived injured last week with a hip injury suffered in the loss to the Minnesota Vikings in order to make room for veteran safety Will Allen, who had been recently released from the Dallas Cowboys. The former undrafted free agent reverted back to the Steelers reserve/injured list after clearing waivers. Being as he is now deemed healthy, he was waived again on Tuesday. The Steelers originally signed Cromartie-Smith as an undrafted frere agent in 2010 and most of his time has been spent on their practice squad. This year, however, Cromartie-Smith made the Steelers final 53 man roster out of training camp. He is currently out of practice squad eligibility.
