I find it almost humorous how quickly articles can change in my mind through the course of a Pittsburgh Steelers’ football game. There were so many things to be critical of as the game wore on yesterday as the Steelers seemed headed for a third straight loss. Despite the fact they won yesterday, I can’t sit here today and wax poetically about everything I saw. In my mind, Mike Wallace is playing his last games as a Pittsburgh Steeler and it goes much deeper than just a guy who pouts when he doesn’t get the ball. Wallace and his fellow receivers Emmanuel Sanders and Antonio Brown dubbed themselves the ‘Young Money Crew’ a few years ago. While it’s a cute little nickname that many thought would be justified, I can say with full confidence that the moniker is far from accurate. While the trio came up big late in the game with a couple of very key receptions, the bulk of the game bore out their mistakes which could have easily cost the Steelers the game. Sanders was far from ‘money’ yes...

Two Best Friends, Two Different Positions, Two Possible Former Teammates?

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Mike Wallace and cornerback Keenan Lewis attended the same high school and have been best friends their entire lives. In a report by Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette after the 2009 NFL Draft, he chronicles the duos path from high school to both being drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the third round. Ravens head to the locker room with the lead

On their final drive of the half, the Steelers got within seven points of the Ravens, but it could have been worse. On an offsides penalty by Haloti Ngata, quarterback Charlie Batch threw the ball to Mike Wallace. However, Wallace dropped the ball. Later that drive, Wallace was wide open, but Batch overthrew his receiver. Pittsburgh settled for a field goal and the Ravens have a...

Prediction Markets Indicate Steelers As Significant Underdog Against Ravens

With Big Ben’s injury, the game on the road, and Baltimore performing well lately, there is not too much confidence in prediction markets that the Steelers can produce an upset. The SportsTradex.com prediction market is currently indicating that the Steelers have a 27% chance of winning the game on Sunday. The market had the Steelers at a higher chance of winning earlier this week...

Parabolic Mic Operator For Steelers Receiver

Charlie Batch had Mike Wallace wide open in the back of the end zone on a third down on the final drive of the first half. Rather than throw it anywhere in the vicinity of his receiver, who had already dropped one open pass earlier in the drive so probably still wasn’t guaranteed to catch it, Batch put it inside the cone of the parabolic microphone operator. A neat bar trick, if...

Ravens take advantage of second Pittsburgh turnover, go up by touchdown

Pittsburgh went right through the Ravens’ defense at the start of the third quarter. Jonathan Dwyer got in the end zone from 16 yards out to tie the game at 13. The Ravens’ offense didn’t do too much. That is until Emmanuel Sanders inexplicably fumbled. A wide open Sanders was switching the ball to his outside hand and fumbled the ball. Ed Reed recovered and the Ravens’ offense...

Monday Morning Chrysler New Yorker

Man it's been awhile since we've been able to properly celebrate a bigtime Steelers win. Division losses to the Browns and Baltimore without Big Ben made for dark times. Before that the win over the Chiefs was muted with uncertainty in Ben's future. Charlie Batch came off a rough loss and stole a win from the Ravens in their home stadium. My voice is still hoarse from...
