There will be no Mannings, not at Super Bowl XLVII.
It’s brother vs. brother, certainly, a historic Super Bowl tale of opposing coaches. You could say it’s brotherly love, a moment when John Harbaugh, coach of the Baltimore Ravens, will stand across the field from Jim Harbaugh, coach of the San Francisco 49ers Sunday to fight for a possession of the Vince Lombardi Trophy, a 22-inch glittering trophy made of stainless steel. It’s the inaugural Harbowl, the first brother vs. brother coaching duel in Super Bowl history, and having watched NFL for years, I believe we are witnesses of the most heartwarming story.
The brothers are drawing most of the attention this week, and amazingly the Harbaughs are a more compelling story to tell here in America, than the Mannings. No disrespect but folks are delighted and amazed that two brothers will be coaching against each other Sunday. So John and Jim have inspired fans, embarking on a journey to try to win their first ever Super Bowl as two pere...

Before He Was Coach: Jim Harbaugh As A Quarterback
Long before he was a Super Bowl coach, Jim Harbaugh was a pretty darn good quarterback. Recruited by Bo Schembechler at the University of Michigan, Harbaugh became the Wolverines starter by his sophomore campaign. As a senior, he was a finalist for the Heisman Trophy and ultimately finished third. Figuring out the very real possibility that Jim McMahon would not be able to continue...
Jim Harbaugh Refused To Talk To The Media After The Super Bowl, Is He A Bad Loser?
Jim Harbaugh wouldn’t talk to the media after his San Fransisco 49ers lost Super Bowl 47 to his brother’s team. People heard the announcers say after the game they went to the 49ers locker room to get a comment from Jim Harbaugh and he would not talk to the media, he had no statements for the millions or even billions of viewers who were waiting to hear from him. Is Harbaugh...
Harbaughs work magic in SB runs
Mark Kac was a Polish-born mathematician, best remembered for a paper he wrote in 1966 entitled "Can One Hear the Shape of a Drum?"
I have not read it. That little bit of info I know only from his bio which had no record of him loving American football, the NFL or any team in particular. He is dead, or I would ask.
I bring Kac up only because he had a theory that best...
The Harbaughs Observe A Family Tradition
John Harbaugh: Almost game time.
Jim Harbaugh: Mmhmmm.
John: The talking is finally done. Time to play this thing.
Jim: Oh, I’m ready.
John: I was ready before I got to New Orleans.
Jim: I was born ready.
John: I was born ready. And I was born first, so I’m more ready.
Jim: The people and creatures I was in previous lives were ready. We carried out our various existences just...
49ers pool report: Harbaugh has team adjust to lighting
49ers Practice Pool ReportBy Matt Maiocco NEW ORLEANS -- The lights of the Super Bowl appeared a little brighter for San Francisco 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh, as the team went through 15 minutes of stretching and playing catch at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. Family ties continue to bind Harbaughs
NEW ORLEANS -- John Harbaugh and his younger brother Jim shared a bedroom growing up, but they can't split the Lombardi Trophy. One will experience the elation of winning Super Bowl XLVII, the other deflated by defeat. "In any game, that's always something you think about. Jim has pointed this out before, it's not really about how we're going to feel,"...

John Harbaugh Says Brother Jim Harbaugh Is ‘Best Coach in NFL’
For the better part of a decade, Bill Belichick has been the consensus pick as the NFL’s best coach. But that title might be passing on, at least according to John Harbaugh.
Harbaugh, who took home his first Super Bowl title with the Ravens’ 34-31 win over the 49ers on Sunday, isn’t putting himself on that pedestal, though. Instead, he’s talking up his younger brother, Jim...
49ers Head Coach Jim Harbaugh Says Refs Cost Them The Game
Saying Jim Harbaugh is an emotional guy is an understatement. We all see him throwing tantrums on the sideline. So why would we not think Jim would be going nuts if he thought the referees missed a pass interference call right at the end of the Super Bowl. The officials felt that Ravens defender Jimmy Smith’s contact with 49ers wide receiver Michael Crabtree was minor.
Harbaugh...

John Harbaugh was nearly named UCLA's coach in 2008
For those who follow college football (like we know all of you do), it’s no secret that this past season UCLA had quite a bit of success under a first-year, former NFL head coach in Jim Mora. Ironically however, had the sands of time shaken out a little differently, Mora might’ve never gotten the UCLA job at all last winter, and instead the Bruins might be led by a current NFL...

WR Michael Crabtree Isn't 'Going To Blame The Refs' For 49ers' Loss
49ers coach Jim Harbaugh believed the Ravens benefitted from a couple of penalties on the 49ers' final drive that were not called but not wide receiver Michael Crabtree, Matt Maiocco of CSN Bayarea reports.
