Stephon Heyer and the changing of the guard

Addressing reporters in front of his dressing stall, tackle Stephon Heyer stopped mid-sentence when someone tapped him on his arm from behind. Coach Mike Shanahan smiled, shook Heyer's hand and said, "I'm proud of you." The praise from Washington's top football official was well deserved after Heyer, pressed into emergency duty at guard, performed well Sunday in the Redskins' 19-16 overtime victory against the Tennessee Titans at LP Field.
