Since the Seahawks took him with the seventh overall pick in 2007, Steve Hutchinson has established himself as an elite offensive lineman, dominating the trenches in Seattle and Minnesota en route to seven All-Pro selections as one of the best guards of the last decade. However, the 34-year-old has done so with a major condition completely unbeknownst to him. While in Ann Arbor, Michigan for a fundraiser, Hutchinson revealed to the Detroit News that he was born with a heart defect, which he first found about last year during a routine doctor’s appointment. He said it would not cause him to walk away from the game … “But it’s something, down the road, you’ve got to keep an eye on it, and it might require a procedure,” Hutchinson said. Hutchinson, who played his collegiate ball at Michigan, joined former Wolverines teammates Charles Woodson and Brian Griese as the trio raised $1.35 million for the University of Michigan C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital and the children’s congenital heart...
