Anyone that has followed the NFL for any length of time knows the name Steve Sabol. He was an integral part of how the NFL is watched today. His father, Ed Sabol created NFL Films and Sabol eventually became President of the company.
On Tuesday, Sabol lost his battle with brain cancer. He learned in March of 2011 that the cancer was inoperable and he would eventually die from it. Since then, Sabol was able to introduce his father during Ed’s enshrinement into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
Sabol won over 40 Emmys and was President of NFL Films while the company won 107 Emmys. And in 2003, he was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award.
The football world definitely lost an impactful individual on Tuesday.
