Photo credit: news.yahoo.com/AP Carolina Panthers wide receiver Steve Smith is well-known throughout the league for not biting his tongue in most situations, but thankfully he can usually back it up on the field. Also, he probably doesn’t have to worry about building chemistry with a new quarterback anytime soon, since Cam Newton is going to be the quarterback for the Panthers for the next decade, long after Smith hangs up his cleats. With that said, Smith took an unprompted opportunity to kick a man while he’s down, and had some comical things to say about New York Jets (for now) quarterback Mark Sanchez. Let’s just say he’s not the biggest Sanchez supporter: “I wouldn’t let Mark Sanchez throw me a paper-bag sandwich,” Smith said on WFNZ, via the Sporting News and ProFootballTalk. While this seems completely unnecessary for Smith to take a cheap-shot, would you let Mark Sanchez throw YOU a paper-bag sandwich? I tend to say yes, because even when he under-throws it by five yards, you still have the five-second rule to pick it up.
