Steve Smith of the Carolina Panthers was resurrected by way of Cam Newton and the explosive season the rookie quarterback had last year.
This year, things are a bit different.
As Cam Newton and the once explosive offense fails to ignite, Smith’s frustrations build. Even though he recently signed a three-year extension games like the one he had this last Sunday make him contemplate how long he plans to stay in this game.
In an article by Tom Sorensen of the CharlotteObserver.com he went about his normal post-game interview with Steve Smith, but things were a bit different.
Can you really envision yourself leaving?
“You’d be surprised,” Smith says.

  • Though he is a good player. There comes a point in time when you need to move on. He complains to much. If you are unhappy then leave otherwise shut the hell up and play your best. If he thinks he can do better else where and there is another team that wants him then go on. The panthers will survive without you. But i have not heard anyone beating up the waves asking for you. If so i would like to know who, since i am tuned to ESPN and NFL network daily. I listen to all the commentators and analystists everyday and none of them have mentioned any teams or there owners saying Steve Smith is a must have players they need. If so Who? I want to know. And I want them to please take him.
  • sry stevie but u r long past your prime.have watch your steady decline in recent years at the games as im a psl holder.think u should have been gone long time.your attitude and demeanor just are not right.and like i told my son when your troubles first started.u act like a ME player sorta like TO.gl next year with another team.by the way like all business HONOR YOUR CONTRACT
  • I wish to heaven he would go ahead and leave, I for one an sick and tired of his whining and gripeing. If he doesn't like it in Charlotte, then go some place else and all of us will be better off. Good Bye and good ridance. Go already!!
  • Its hard to have 2 ball hogs on the same team. You constantly prove to the fans your a me player. You and Cam Newton need to quite crying and pouting and play the game like men,and stop with all the garbage when u do make a good play thats what your paid for. As a PSL owner from day one, If you think we cant do without you maybe you should call Randy Moss and ask him how that attude is working for him.
