Cam Newton need not worry about who he is going to throw to for the next few years after Steve Smith agreed to an extension with the Carolina Panthers.

We now know that it will not happen for at least a few more years and we are confident that the Panthers will have groomed a replacement for Smith by the time this new deal ends.
Cam Newton – Cam Newton now looks like he will remain a QB1 in fantasy for the duration of his career. The scary part is that Newton figures to put up even more gaudy numbers once the Panthers acquire a legit number two receiver.
Steve Smith – As long as Smith has Newton throwing him the ball he will be a borderline WR1 with the potential to be the #1 WR on any given week. Though he is on the wrong side of thirty, Steve Smith has proven that...

CHARLOTTE- As we predicted, Carolina Panthers WR Steve Smith redid his contract with the team. The move had to be done to create more cap space. The Panthers were living with only $623,000 BEFORE going into the NFL 2012 draft.
Smith’s new deal instantly creates $4.75 million dollars in cap room taking them out of the range of the teams with the lowest amount of space.
