Rams Gab:
A Steven Jackson's thigh injury is severe enough to keep him out of practice this week and he will only be participating in "light workouts". A Antonio Pittman has returned from injury to split carries with Travis Minor in practice. A I know that Jackson does not need extensive practice to be ready to go on Sunday, but if he was practicing we would know he is ready to play.
On one hand, I hope that Jackson plays so that the Rams offense can pick up where they left off against Dallas. A On the other hand, I do not want Jackson to hurt his ability to play at a high level for the rest of the year for just one game.
If Jackson does not play, Pittman should provide the speed attack just like (Michael) Pittman did for the Broncos against the Patriots and Travis Minor will fill in when needed. A Pittman and Minor should be successful against the struggling Patriots run defense, but not nearly as successful as Jackson.
The Rams now have a lot of momentum on their side for the first time in a few years, I would hate to lose the momentum with a loss because we did not have Steven Jackson running the football.
It is a toss-up and I hope the Rams will only play Jackson if he is healthy and would not risk further injury. A We will keep an eye on this as the Rams get closer to kick-off.
