Chargers wide receiver Vincent Jackson finds himself in the middle of the NFL lockout discussion after Yahoo! Sports' Jason Cole reported today that Jackson and New England lineman Logan Mankins are pushing for compensation as plaintiffs in the Brady v. the NFL lawsuit. Placed with a franchise tag by their respective teams, both players are looking for a payout from the settlement or for the NFL to remove their franchise tags, allowing them to become free agents. It's uncertain whether the reported demands will hold up negotiations between NFL players and owners that could produce a new Collective Bargaining Agreement as early as Thursday. But if Jackson becomes a free agent, it shouldn't be a surprise if the Vikings at least circle back with Jackson's camp about a future pairing, especially if Sidney Rice goes elsewhere.
