At one point in last Sunday’s Super Bowl broadcast, one of the announcers made the comment that perhaps the New York Giants and New England Patriots should play against each other all the time, because every time they play the game seems to go down to the wire.
The winning points in Super Bowl XLII were scored with 35 seconds remaining, and the game wasn’t over until Tom Brady’s fourth-down pass fell incomplete with 10 seconds left. Super Bowl XLVI went down to the game’s final play, when Brady’s Hail Mary into the end zone hit the turf, just out of the reach of gimpy TE Rob Gronkowski.
Both Super Bowls involved many of the same actors – same coaches, same QBs, and many of the same defensive stars. But which game was better? Which one had more elements to make it higher on the all-time classic list?
