All-Pro tight end Rob Gronkowski is active for the Patriots for the Super Bowl, as is wide receiver Chad Ochocinco. Gronkowski has been recovering from a high left ankle sprain suffered in the AFC title game. He practiced on a limited basis this week. Receiver Ochocinco was inactive for the conference title game because of the death of his father a week earlier.
The first question, the biggest question, has been answered. Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski is active for Super Bowl XLVI, the team just announced. He’ll play on that high-ankle sprain, gutting it out. How effective he’ll be, we don’t know.

* Offensive lineman Nick McDonald

The Giants and Patriots share many qualities, and pure football values are one of them.
The franchises are the gold standard of the NFL the Giants for their rich history and three...
That’s all folks. Well it will certainly take some time for this to all sink in. It was a miserable end, but a great run by the Pats this year. It wasn’t always perfect but the 2011 team was stocked with fighters. It always hurts to get so close only to fall short, and while it would be easy to get carried away it the “what does it all mean” of it all, let’s just take a...
Cold Hard Football Facts points out that the Patriots should maybe return to their dink-and-dunk roots and skip the Brady long-ball:
The entire first half, Brady didn’t throw a ball more than 20 yards in the air, but it didn’t matter. Their 14-play, 96-yard drive to cap the first half was a thing of beauty. Purists might miss the days of three yards and a cloud of dust, but...
