Baltimore Sun:
Tight end Quinn Sypniewski has had a minor clean-up procedure on his injured knee, but the surgery will not impact his availability this season for the Ravens.
Sypniewski missed the last two seasons with problems resulting from an ACL tear in minicamp before the 2008 season. His first surgery was in April, 2008. Last May, he had surgery to reattach a piece of bone in the knee and that operation his 2009 season.
Sypniewski, 27, was a fifth-round draft pick in 2006 and has played in 31 games for the Ravens, starting 12. He was valuable as a blocking tight end who also caught 36 passes for 261 yards in his first two seasons.
Without the 6-foot-6, 270-pound Sypniewski, the Ravens have had to be creative on offense, playing different offensive linemen (Adam Terry, Chris Chester) as a second tight end in short-yardage and run situations the last two seasons.
