It wasn’t the prettiest display of football last night, but hey, isn’t that every preseason game in a nutshell? The starters play a few sets, and give way to the guys who are trying to make the cut or take the next step up in their career. Overall, I think that both teams showed a little offseason rust that training camp hasn’t blown off yet, but by Week 1, we should see a more polished product. Here are a few points I found interesting from the game:
Tom Brady – I would be remiss to not start this with anyone other than Touchdown Tom, who played two offensive sets last night. Overall, good performance. There were a couple balls that were slightly off target (Faulk and Crumpler), but otherwise, business as usual. I did hear a few people mention he needed a haircut. Maybe Mrs. Brady likes it that way.
Julian Edelman – Wes Welker 2.0 had a great game snagging 6 balls for 90 yards and doing a solid job on his returns. Even with Wes looking ready for Week 1...
