Found March 31, 2014 on The Pack Mentality:
One of the remaining questions in free agency for the Packers is the fate of fullback John Kuhn. Kuhn is a free agent but the Packers have kept in constant contact with John in the hopes of getting a deal done. Although there are reportedly a couple of teams interested in Kuhn, the Packers are certainly in contention: A decision on the future of John Kuhn could come as early as this week with the Green Bay Packers still in contention for the veteran fullback’s services, according to an NFL source. Kuhn isn't an every-down player but he blocks with the best of them, has a great knowledge of the team's offense and his special teams utility. With the departure of James Jones, Kuhn is also the most senior offensive player on the Packers outside of Aaron Rodgers. Hopefully, that seniority will carry over into 2014. We may find out this week whether that will be the case.

Ha-Ha Clinton-Dix, Green Bay Packers’ Messiah?

Contrary to the title of this post, I do not harbor any strange, obsessive yearning for drafting Hasean Clinton-Dix, the dynamic safety coming out of the Crimson Tide of Alabama. However, the title is vested with the high aspirations and fragile hopes I have held so near my heart and being since the conclusion of the 2010 NFL season. For all of the Green Bay Packers’ fans, cheeseheads...

Packers: Receiver Myles White Looks To Make Big Jump in Year Two

The Green Bay Packers made a calculated decision when they allowed wide receiver James Jones to leave for the Oakland Raiders after signing a three-year deal with the team on a free agent contract. It hurt to let Jones go. After all, he spent seven seasons in Green Bay and became one of the most likable, consistent players on the team. Yet, in the world of the salary cap, you can’t...

Kuhn, Packers remain in talks

A decision on the future of John Kuhn could come as early as this week with the Green Bay Packers in talks with the veteran fullback about a potential return. The Packers have stayed in steady contact with Kuhn since the start of free agency, but so have a handful of other teams around the league, according to an NFL source. Kuhn will turn 32 in September and plays an endangered...

Liam Neeson is Just Like Bacon: The Packers in Free Agency - Part I

Liam Neeson is indestructible. Some time after being Qui-Gon Jinn in Star Wars: The Phantom Menace, someone figured out that Liam Neeson is better in movies with less dialog and a lot more guns.  In fact, this became such a revelation that Liam Neeson's last 5 movies have almost identical plots.  Let's take a closer look:Taken - Someone takes Liam Neeson's daughter...

Aaron Rodgers Has Gone Real Weird This Offseason

Listen, we all are in agreement that Green Bay Packers quarterback, Aaron Rodgers, is a damn good quarterback. In fact, he also probably knows that he’s a damn good quarterback. And that can be a problem, sometimes. Because when you know you are good at something, you end up developing a sense of entitlement. For some, it’s a sense that you deserved that promotion, or you deserved...

Kuhn Worth The Minimum

Wes Hodkiewicz of the Press-Gazette reports multiple teams – including the Packers – are negotiating with John Kuhn. I find it hard to believe that other general managers are interested in a 31-year-old fullback who has never been a particularly strong lead blocker, but if the report is true, Ted Thompson should bow out of […]

Packers will look to add depth at LB via the draft

Last year’s Packers defense was lacking in two very important categories: talent and depth. In some units, like the secondary, the Packers had very little talent or depth. In other units, like linebackers, the Packers had a talented group who did not have enough depth to deal with the injuries sustained during an NFL season. At some points during 2013, the Packers had only one...

Taking a peek at Peppers’ Packers deal

As we break down more deals that were advertised to be something more than they really are, more and more league insiders are pointing out other deals that have had puffed values. The most common deal mentioned is the contract signed by Packers defensive lineman Julius Peppers. But there really wasn’t any puffing by Peppers’ agent, Carl Careyl Carey accurately described the...

Green Bay Packers: Recapping the free agent signings

B.J Raji (#90) was among several free agents that resigned with the Packers Green Bay Packers general manager Ted Thompson has always had the philosophy of draft and develop, and patch the remaining pieces in free agency.  The one previous exception to that was when Thompson signed veteran defensive back Charles Woodson away from the Oakland Raiders.  Woodson was a key part during...

The Biggest Off-Season Moves by the Green Bay Packers

The most impactful free agency moves by the Green Bay Packers so far in this off-season.

Packers find classic tight ends harder to come by

Today, he hardly recognizes his position. From his new post as St. Augustine's University's offensive coordinator, Ben Coates tracks the game's best tight ends. Yet these so-called tight ends are different. "It's a changing of the guard," Coates said this week. "Basically, you look at it and it's becoming more of a passing league. Everybody wants...

Hyde Provides Safety Net in Secondary

With the free-agent crop of safeties all but wiped clean — though one veteran has received at least some mild interest — the Packers probably will have to count on Micah Hyde and May's draft. It's interesting to note how Hyde stacks up athletically with this year's safety class.

Packers Annual Checkup: Sam Shields

Sam Shields had a breakout season in 2013 and expectations will be high for him in 2014 after being rewarded handsomely by the Packers with a big contract in the offseason.

Could Johnny Manziel Have a Draft Day Like Aaron Rodgers?

Comparisons are drawn between players all the time, and come Draft Day there very well could be one drawn between Johnny Manziel and Aaron Rodgers.  There are certain people in life that you either love or hate. When it comes to this year’s crop of NFL hopefuls looking to get drafted there is no player that elicits one response or the other quit like Johnny Manziel. Whether...

Packers Mock Draft with a Twist – Pigskin Paul

Pigskin Paul – Draftnik I am not a big fan of Mock Drafts. I always feel like they are a lot more work than they are worth. With trades and so many front office changes every year the process of putting together an accurate sample Mock Draft seems not only daunting, but highly speculative. And since I do not have inside team contacts it stacks the odds even more against my being...
