Found September 20, 2013 on The Football Fan Spot:
Tampa Bay Buccaneers (0-2) at New England Patriots (2-0) Tom Brady completed under 50% of his passes in a game last week for the first time since 2009 and it took a perfect storm for that to happen. It was a combination of the worst receiving corps he’s ever worked with, a Thursday Night game, and terrible weather. Two of those situations will be gone this week as the Patriots actually have extra time to prepare for this one and the weather is expected to be fine. Unfortunately, their receiving corps probably won’t be much better. Danny Amendola and Shane Vereen remain out and, while you never know with the Patriots, if I had to guess right now, I don’t think Rob Gronkowski is going to play. I definitely underestimated Tom Brady’s ability to get this new receiving corps assimilated before the season started. Brady has had success with receivers that haven’t been that good in the past, but they’ve always been veterans. The Patriots’ system is incredibly complex because of all the tim...

Tom Brady is a Wrecking Ball (Video)

A fan in Pittsburgh was apparently crying in his Iron City brewski over the Steelers 0-2 start when he became inspired to mock longtime rival New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady. And what better place to voice your frustrations than the internet. Be warned, Patriots Lifer's: Once seen it can never be unseen. @TheGuruGS

Tom Brady: Darrelle Revis is the best corner I’ve ever faced

As Tom Brady and the New England Patriots prepare to face off against the Buccaneers this weekend, there’s one familiar face on the other side of the ball that they’ve seen enough of over the past several years.  That face belongs to cornerback Darrelle Revis who faced off against Brady twice year for most of his career. Brady told Patriots.com that Revis is the best corner...

New England Patriots: 2013 Week 3 NFL Power Rankings (#6)

Last week: 3 Tom Brady completed under 50% of his passes in a game last week for the first time since 2009 and it took a perfect storm for that to happen. It was a combination of the worst receiving corps he’s ever worked with, a Thursday Night game, and terrible weather. The good news is the Patriots don’t play any more Thursday Night Games and that terrible weather won’t...

Tom Brady Says Darrelle Revis Is Best Cornerback He Has Ever Played Against

FOXBORO, Mass. — If Darrelle Revis needed a boost of confidence going into his first matchup against the Patriots as a member of the Buccaneers, he got it from Tom Brady. Brady had some high praise for the player he used to have to face twice a year. “I’ve never played against anyone who is as good as him,” Brady said. “He’s as good as there is that I’ve ever played...

Brady, Manning and Peterson Weren’t Great In Their First Two Games Back Either

Tom Brady, Peyton Manning and Adrian Peterson had different injuries than Robert Griffin III, and they were on different timelines and in different situations, etc. They’re different players, and, like all people everywhere, each is a precious snowflake. Also, two games is a small sample size, I know, but that’s what we have to work with when analyzing post-devastation RGIII...

Match-Up Mania: Aaron Dobson Vs. The Ball

Can Tom Brady get his rookie targets to listen to him? How did you feel about your New England Patriots last week at this time? How did Aaron Dobson feel? The Patriots, uhhh, beat the Jets last Thursday in a thoroughly futile football performance and fans and players alike were disappointed in the 2-0 club. The most optimistic take I had was that it couldn’t get worse than a 13...

Donovan McNabb Is Better Than Tom Brady

A bold proclamation indeed, but true?  I believe so. Now understand, Tom Brady will likely go down as one of top-5 quarterbacks of all-time and is a surefire Hall of Famer. Donovan McNabb is on the outside looking in at Canton. Numbers-wise, Brady currently has over 45,000 yards passing, 337 touchdowns, and is still going strong. McNabb hasn’t compiled nearly that number of yards...

Buffalo Bills at New York Jets: 2013 Week 3 NFL Pick

Buffalo Bills (1-1) at New York Jets (1-1) It’s really early, but the Jets have the best defense in the NFL, by far, in terms of preventing their opponent from moving the chains. They’ve allowed just 51.2% of first and 10s to be converted for a subsequent first down. Getting Tampa Bay week 1 and then a Thursday Night Game in the rain week 2 definitely helps, but you have to be...

Mankins relates to rookie receivers

The Patriots are currently 2-0 but the record is somewhat misleading. The offense led by former MVP Tom Brady, isn't as dominant as it once was. The running game isn't as strong as most people would have thought it would be going into this season and there are many question marks in the aerial attack. With Brady's favorite targets Danny Amendola and Rob Gronkowski out...

How the New England Patriots Benefitted From an Easy Schedule

To say that the New England Patriots had more than their share of challenges to overcome during the offseason would be an enormous understatement. How many teams could withstand the loss of their two top tight ends, as well as the bulk of their receiving department? Not very many... but this is no ordinary team.It all starts and ends with quarterback, Tom Brady. He is the heart and...

Five Fantasy Football Players to Buy Low Right Now

Week 2 in the books. If you’re 2-0, good for you. If you’re 0-2, there’s still time. Don’t lose hope. The success of a Fantasy Football season is made or broken by the addition of players during the season. There’s not much on the waiver wire so you may have to make a trade. Trading is a science. It’s not only about putting together a deal that benefits you, it’s about...

Keep Football Weird: 5 Unexpected Oddities from the NFL

I’ve been living south of the border in Portland since December. One of the common phrases in town is “Keep Portland Weird.” It’s all over bumper stickers and has been the main reason the show Portlandia has blossomed into a hit. And if you don’t know what I’m talking about, put it on your bucket list to visit the Portland Saturday Market sometime. It’s…lovely…...

New York Jets Secondary Grade Sheet – Week Two

After a mixed bunch of grades in the secondary from the New York Jets’ Week One performance versus the Buccaneers, there plenty to keep an eye out for when the Jets squared off with Tom Brady and the Patriots last Thursday. The Pats entered the game with an extremely depleted group of pass catchers due to injuries sidelining Danny Amendola, Rob Gronkowski, and Zach Sudfeld. ...

2013 Fantasy Football, Week 3 Start/Sit

Source: Ron Antonelli/Getty Images North America; Source: Patrick Smith/Getty Images North America Below are players that I have ranked much differently than the expert consensus ranking (ECR) over on FantasyPros.com. I focus on players that are actually guys that you might be debating about whether to start or sit. For example, I have Randall Cobb ranked 14th at WR, which is quite...
